The concept, from La Fisheria owner Anas Mousa, held a soft opening last week with a limited menu. Tres Tacos offers the flavors of Arabian cuisine combined with Mexican fare. Snacks include guacamole, hummus, jalapeno rellenos and elote. Individual tacos come with your choice of seven fillings, from fried fish (with chipotle mayo, coleslaw cucumber and onion escabeche) to lobster (with blackened avocado, microgreens and coleslaw) to lamb kabob (with garlic sauce, cucumber, radish, serrano, red onion, and cumin-labneh sauce). The kitchen also offers two machetes (tacos made with a long oval-shaped tortilla), a tostada de ceviche and a duo of desserts: flan and churros. Sips include cider, domestic and imported brews, and more than a dozen cocktails. The Tinkerbell's Night Out is made with basil, rhubarb bitters and a triple punch of booze — mezcal, cucumber-infused tequil and elderflower liqueur. Tres Tacos will officially open—with a full menu including quesadillas and sweet potato taquitos—on Dec. 17. “Tres Tacos has been in our minds for such a long time, we hope everyone enjoys it as much as we have enjoyed the journey of making it happen,” Mousa said in the release.
