toxtethogrady
So what is it - animal, vegetable or mineral?
asubrt
I would guess a couple of townhouses, the lot is quite small. There's a trailer on the lot, though I'm not sure if it was on there before because I never paid much attention to this lot. I live close so I'll keep an eye on it.
Urbannizer
It's a mid-rise condo building, but the renderings are of Oaks on Caroline. By rdavis4559 on SSP. http://museumflats.com/

asubrt
Think this one is dead. There's a new Peek Realty for sale sign on the site. The fencing/sales office trailer is still there but I don't think it's happening.
Urbannizer
Seems to be alive still as there are listings online for this project. Peek Realty has units for sale on their site as well. http://www.highriseshouston.com/museum-flats-condos-houston.php http://www.peekrealtyhouston.com/homes-for-sale-details/5715-Almeda-Houston-TX-77004/79639486/
asubrt
Yeah I was mistaken, I guess they are the ones marketing it. They had an open house type thing in their office in the Mosaic last weekend with this property, Oaks on Caroline, and other properties. Urbannizer
Construction will begin in the next 30 days, according to PaperCityMag
asubrt
Wow I'm pretty surprised, though I guess condos are booming. Someone should probably change the spelling of Almeda in the thread title.
Urbannizer
http://houston.culturemap.com/news/real-estate/11-04-15-urban-flats-oaks-caroline-museum-flats-condos-value-appeal/ Museum Flats is just the latest in upscale metropolitan living, and it will break ground soon in the suddenly hot Almeda corridor just steps from Hermann Park. The six-story mid-rise mixes refined European aesthetics with rustic Hill Country elements and boasts interior details and features similar to those at Oaks at Caroline. With a target completion date of late 2016, buyers have their choice of condo location, floor plan, and finishes.
LarryDierker
Isn't 4820 the address for the oaks? Hope they use a different design for the Ridge and the Park.
quietstorm
Why "European aesthetics with rustic Hill Country elements"? I guess Houston has no discernable architectural style I like the building just fine, but are residents supposed to imagine they're in London or Austin because they're living in a rustic, hill country influenced "flat"???? It's called Hodge-Podge.
jmitch94
I love these small mid-rise developments, they can really improve an area.

houstontexasjack
I think they still have a number of units at the Oaks on Caroline to move. Frankly, the units are priced a little high given the lack of amenities in the building. The Mosaic is just down the road and offers a far larger number of amenities at a similar price point.

Amlaham
This will now be a gym, nothing special considered its just for a metal building :/
j.33
Yea, Vegvisir CrossFit & Personal Training (which is currently a few blocks north), is moving their gym to this location. It was at the planning commission a few weeks ago for an offsite parking variance.
