Americas is said to be opening in the Fall in the Waterway area, right next to the Goose's Acre. No progress on the space, though.

I saw construction going on this morning in Monica Pope's new upscale bbq joint on Sawyer called Beaver's. I'm still cracking up at the name:)

Is Patronella's still closed after the fire in the back part? Anyone know?

Studio Gaia of New York, the award-winning firm which designed several W Hotels and the Tao restaurant in the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, has been awarded the design contract. According to McCarley the bi-level restaurant will feature a bar on the street level with the dining room overlooking The Woodlands Waterway on the second level.

The Woodlands location will be different from other Churrascos because of the setting, but will "artfully blend chic minimalism with a theatrical flair" making it one of the most fashionable environments in the country, he said.

although the restaurant will now be an "americas", the interior will still be phenomenal. i'm sure this is why the windows are covered. i believe it is to open this fall.

Great news; Americas on Post Oak has a wonderful interior, and I'm really looking forward to what they do here. I just wish they'd get going. They didn't do a very good job covering the windows, and it looked like they've done nothing so far.
