ABC News hosted the first Republican presidential debates Sunday morning. Romney was the clear winner with Rudy making excellent points along with Huckabee and Hunter standing tall; an excellent choice of candidates for those favoring conservative values with one notable exception:

Dear Representative Ron Paul:

After listening to your far Left liberal views during the debate today, sounding more like Alec Baldwin than Ronald Reagan, it is clear that you are in the wrong political party.

Republicans embrace conservative values, not socialist. Conservatism, the cornerstone and ideology of the GOP, supports the notion of small government, less taxes, rather than the Liberal "Daddy take care of me" attitude you fervently favor. Perhaps the Democratic party would be better suited to your views. Perhaps the American Communist party would be an even better fit.

Whilst Republicans come in a variety of flavors, colors, and political positions, from the Black gay man to the Asian born-again Christian, the ideology of conservatism though, is their common denominator. You sir, are no conservative. You should not be calling yourself a Republican.

The real question is, why are you fighting the inevitable, Comrade? :P

But seriously...if you think that Ron Paul is a "big government liberal", you're not paying attention to the man's record. He wants the US out of Iraq because he doesn't think the US government should be intruding into the affairs of other countries. He is also of the opinion that the war is unconsitutional, another reason to pull out our troops. Paul is a strict Constitutionalist...the Feds should only be involved in those items that are specifically written into the Constitution.

Paul's political views make every other candidate on that stage look like Communists, not the other way around.

What are you talking about?

Ron Paul is a true conservative. The others are just mere posers who pander to the Religious fanatics who want the government to regulate everything they do not approve of.

Ya, Ron Paul is a true conservative. It's disturbingly funny that so many people associate Ronald Reagan economic policies as anti-Socialism. Supply-side economics and the Trickle Down Theory are anti-Capitalism. Supporters for the political adgenda of the Christian Coalition (et al) are much more align with Communism than the ACLU. Oh well, whatever, politics is one of those necessary fools games.

The absolute ignorance of the definitions of the political terms slung by the average American is comical, to say the least. Perhaps the most comical is the suggestion that Republicans in 2007 embrace "conservative values". There may be a few Barry Goldwater Republicans out there, but I have met precious few in the last 14 years. Certainly, "nation building" and the biggest expansion of Medicare in history would not qualify.

Rudy Giuliani is a gun snacting liberal to me.

but you got to hand it to him. He is funny especially on SNL. I will vote for him just for his sense of humor.

Quote from his SNL skit: (he was the cabbie) Freaking Guiliani!

Right on, right on, right on.

Democrats used to have conservative principles--then the party went left. Republicans are losing their conservatism; the reason they were tossed aside in the last Senate election. The Libertarian party may step up and fill the void but what I simply can't wrap my mind around is:

Why is socialism, (rent-seeking policy, government as parent, lack of flat tax, etc.) becoming so acceptable in the States?
