lockmat
I love the inside. It looks great. I especially love that wood ceiling. The only thing I don't like is the outside. I hate that layered stone look, just hate it.
mrfootball
I like the stone and glass exterior.I wonder if they're going to use this design (or a slightly modified version of it) for the next HS (#4)? I think that one is scheduled to open within the next 5 years.BTW...I just saw pics of the new Wunsche Academy campus. Very nice as well. musicman
is this a theater or a school? looks like out of control spending to me.
Chris
Did anyone go to the tour yesterday. It was really great. The school is more impressive on the inside as it is on the outside.
lockmat
Sorry, I guessed I zoned in on the first picture that comes up. I can't figure out how to paste or copy it here. The rest of the exterior is a different stone. I like that alright.
hbcu
that has to be the auditorium......I predicted a shopping mall concept quite some time ago...problem is with these new schools....folks who attend less than desirable schools will want to experience the feeling and make their way out there...DeKaney is very accessible by public transportation and easy to move out to...also though...these facilities spoil the kids.....what else can they ask for in life? pineda
It kinda has a Hill Country type look to it, with all the beautiful wood and stone. This campus will help instill a lot of pride in the lucky students zoned to it. Good job!
Chris
An Elementary School is planned to be across the street from Dekaney HS with an opening date of 2008 or 2009.

The school has a Houston address (but is not within the city limits of Houston) and has a ZIP code of 77073.Website: http://classroom.springisd.org/webs/dekaney.campus/
lockmat
Wow, that seems so far out to be considered SISD. I guess I never thought of the students living East of 45 as Spring students. How far south does the district line go? Past the beltway?
