  1. Off the top of my head I think 1900 Hi-Line, supposedly The Stoneleigh is back on, and I think some sort of Cresent development but that is in development.
  2. ...There is no possible scenario in which it COULDN'T be him
  3. I think it has to be b/c he has a Houston Identity video, and started the Houston Identity thread...
  4. Exactly, I was in a discussion with a friend of mine on the subject. I was saying Crane and Co. should find an organization each week and give away as many upper deck seats as they can. Say 2000 soldiers and their families that kind of thing. It makes the crowd look somewhat more full and if 1 person buys 1 concession out of the 2000 then that was money you otherwise wouldn't have had! Again this is all in theory and I'm sure if people would find out that 1000s of tickets were given away they wouldn't be trying to pay for them, but it was a nice thought!
  5. I'll Price is Right you and say 41 stories with street level retail on all sides of the building
  6. They are already on the site at the Voss location. They are tearing up the slab from the old strip center.
  7. African American... I am white and I can't comment on Charolette, but Houston is very mixed. Houston has a very strong black culture and I think that it is very comparable to Atlanta's. If you could be more specific as to what you are wondering about it would probably be easier to answer any questions. Dallas I find a little more segregated than Houston and AA culture doesn't have much of a presence, at least on the surface in that city.
  8. It was mentioned somewhere a page or so back on this thread or "The Sovereign" thread. Also looking at the rendering, the bend in the road if you will also matched the location. It looks nearly the same as on google maps
  9. Not exactly, there is basically, West Village and Victory(fail). Dallas lacks the grid street pattern for true urban growth. The size of downtown and uptown together can't be more than half of Houston's downtown. The street design coupled with the fact that most of the fancy highrises have either large setbacks with fences around them or minimal to 0 street integration has already killed the chances of a truely urban center
  10. Yes! This is my go to course! Never too crouded, cheap (like 25 with a cart last time I went), and there is a mexican guy on Wayside that will sell you like 40 golf balls for 7 bucks!
  11. Went to Katsuya last night and it was jam packed, along with every other bar in the area. Its a pretty cool place and the food was great. Any word on when the next phases of West Ave. will start being built?
  12. Just drove by and they have some posts out almost all the way out to the sidewalk. I don't know if it actually for the patio, but as of now it does appear that it will go out to the sidewalk.
  13. That would be huge, but I think that it is going to be a local affiliate similar to Fox Sports Houston...but its just my opinion
  14. This is very nice, but I don't hold out much hope for Washington. Everything is way too spread out. I think if they focused more on developing from downtown to Sawyer rather than further down it might help. The massive apartment complex with the gate around it, it might be right across from this really aggravates me.
  15. damn...how do you really feel about those developments??
  16. I think the bridge itself is fine, just not for where it is at. I am sure it has been beaten dead but it really needs to be above something worth while. It looks like something that would be in Greece, the white would look so good against the dark blue water, but instead its amongst power lines and the best view comes from jail.
  17. Reading the description that says nothing more than 475 cals kinda turned me off too it. There website changed my mind though, looks pretty nice.
  18. Come on Afton Oaks...you are between 610, Richmond, and Westheimer. Honestly if I was one of the houses on richmond I wouldn't mind the rail, atleast the street will be redone nicely and its not like there will be a stop infront of your house.
  19. http://www.rdmag.com/Lab-Design-News/News/2011/12/New-Projects-Sheikh-Zayed-Bin-Sultan-Al-Nahyan-Building-For-Personalized-Cancer-Care/ I think it was posted on here in some other topic about a month or so ago...but here you go.
  20. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2012/01/31/apache-expands-office-at-post-oak.html Pure speculation, but to me seems plausible that this could be the building they are talking about... "Houston-based Apache (NYSE: APA) had been considering its real estate options, including possibly pre-leasing space in a proposed office building that would not be built without a commitment from a lead tenant."
  21. Maybe they could do something like the Dynamo Stadium with the mesh. I think it looks cool on the stadium and would be kinda continuous even though they arent necessarely together. The mesh skin was cheap and it looks fairly unique.
