  1. Farther out on 521 their is a very nice neighborhoood with acre+ lots, its very nice.
  2. Fresno has a lot of cheap new houses that are going to start falling apart within the next decade. From what I heard many of the residents are the ones that got money for their shotgun houses in developing areas in Houston. Its a ghetto fabulous burb. Also the main road, 521 @ Hwy 6 looks like your in East Texas without any natural beauty. If you like it out their, stick with Pearland.
  3. Their are bull dozers and trucks working away on the block. Couple lanes are block off surrounding it also. A trailer is on the south side of the block.
  4. The third lot is roped off. The middle lot is full of cars but I saw a few guys on ladders taking down lights and other misc. things. The first lot next to the rail line was full of cars.
  5. A new crane is up just south of the Sysco building. Also another crane went up closer to Dairy Ashford and I-10. Their is three cranes up along the energy corridor. Also, their are a couple of other developments unde construction along eldridge between Westheimer and I-10. Does anybody have any information in what is being built...
  6. Their are 3 or 4 bull dozers at the sight today loading up a line of dump trucks with dirt! Good News?
  7. Houston just sucks, their isn't any projects going on or the population is falling like a rock. Everyone just wants to move to Cypress or Katy. Downtown and Midtown doesn't have an area like the established uptown district to compete with. Beautiful buildings and shopping and entertainment, it is like a second downtown. Downtown and Midtown hasn't had to completely reestablish an indenity from scratch. Why are their building and selling thousands of townhomes and condos DT and MT? It takes time to revitalize an area. More then the decade when it has started here. Seriously things are consistently moving forward. I see and experience it daily in my life. Cypress is getting 100,000 new residence because families from around the world are moving here and they rather have a yard and a huge house then live in an apartment building. Plus the established homes in the city are three times as much. I don't get it myself but people want a huge house with a huge electric bill and travel 2 hours a day in rush hour. Why not buy a smaller house in an establised area in town, have the extra time with your family and exspose them to museums, parks, and art instead of a parking lot and Walmart. I,ve already started my SuperBowl booze, I'm probally way off topic... Houston is not disappointing the way so of you act. I never read such pesimistic post on any forum... Also I think some people think not much is going on because we look for it everyday. A project or announcement is not going to happen everyday. You only think about other cities when here of a project announcement. I've been working with some investors from CA and they tell how Houston is very exciting and hot market in many areas... They compare it to what L.A. was in the 50's. The next decade is a very good times for the city.
  8. I know one of the arguements against rail on Richmond is that the ballot language read "Westpark Corridor". Someone may have brought this up before but the Main Street Corridor runs on Fannin and other roads. Doesn't corridor mean, a name for an area not a specific street? Also if the only way we will get this line built is by it being on Westpark, is it an option to run down Westpark but have it turn towards Richmond at the Greenway Plaza area and run it through their and then run it back to Westpark?
  9. I my opinion I think we need to realize the only way we will get rail is it being placed on Westpark. I literaly threw-up in my mouth reading that article. To be honest, even though my family is about republican as republican can get we can even see this guy is full of it. We have never liked this liar and manipilator. It aggrevates me to no end about our mass transit situation and that we have to be in the situation we are in because of men who use double standards like Culberson. If we do get the rail along westpark is their going to be any kind of connection or walkway to areas like Greenway Plaza?
  10. Looks like Metro is taking another step forward with the BRT part of Phase II - Phase II Update I beleive the chosen LRT University Route will be announced in March. Here is some renderings of the Intermodal Terminal - Impressive Renderings
  11. I posted that exact sentence on post #1701... I got an e-mail response from a rep of HP. I have no idea who Complex01 is and if he copied what I posted or got the same e-mail response....
  12. I've been doing alot of work for a joint venture from California. They have bought over a hundred townhomes around the inner loop. They are renting them out, trying to break even for 5-10 years. The way Houston is booming in so many areas they plan on flipping their investment for a nice profit. Some of theis investors I met said Houston is what L.A. was in the 50's and that real estate in the city core is the best investment for an individual to make.
  13. I know their has been rumors for years. I am just sharing what I heard today from someone who normaly shares only accurate information
  14. Got an e-mail back from a rep of HP this evening. It stated that the HP will break ground on 02-05-07 and will be completed in time for the holiday season of '08 (approx. Oct.) Seriously this project is a go! When you are dealing with 200 million dollars every detail needs to be completed before any construction will start. Why are so many here still crying and focusing on the Shamrock? Their has been dozens of impressive projects completed and started since Shamrock was announced.
  15. Heard today some interesting info. from someone who knows and is involved with many of the Houston areas doings. They were saying that the Disney corp. has been buying up land in the Katy area under different names. Doing this keeps other investors from buying land and sitting on it for a profit knowing that the Disney Corp has a high demand for the same land. A first phase of Disney Houston (if this is true) is scheduled to open in 2015.
  16. Metro has couple of corridors eviroment study and chosen routes finished. I believe by the end of the year we will have all new corridors and the University Line studies finished and will know what Federal money the city gets and when and/or where construction wil start. Metro Solutions Link
  17. is 24hr ESPN radio now... Mike and Mike in the Morning adnd the Dan Patrick Show will broadcast live daily. Local sports and traffic will have a spot every 20 min. This will make it three 24hr sports radio stations in Houston.
  18. This project is a go! I know people get frustrated but you got to remember this project has only been around for a couple of years. Their is 200million dollars involved and every little detail needs to be complete before construction starts. I truly beleive this project will be in full swing and ground will break during Spring time (March/April)
  19. The crane is up for the office building on the corner of Eldrige and I-10 (I beleive it is for Shell?). Also thier is a lot of work and prep going on for the BP exspansion.
  20. I spoke to a rep from One Park Place today... She said ground breaking is still set for the end of the month. An exact date has not been chosen yet. I also ask if she knew anything about HP and the hold-up. She mentioned the hold-up still has something to do with discussions about the condos.
  21. My father is from London, he came over in the seventies. The rest of my family is scattered all over the U.K. still. We vist once a year or so during different seasons. London is very beautiful but very exspensive. I absolutely love it over their. I've been trying to talk my wife into moving over their when she is done with school. One thing that stands out to me was that we get spoiled by AC. Even though it isn't to warm at night during the summer I was use to the cold <70 air blowing on me. What made it worse was that the windows tilt out at the top only and not raise open completly to allow a breeze into the house. Also the sun coming up at 2AM doesn't help the sleep pattern....
  22. Because Pro-Sport teams will pack up their bags and move to a city that will build one for them. I understand why and how we build the stadiums but some things bother me. For example with MMP, we built the stadium with our taxes but the owner Drayton McCLain keeps the millions for naming rights.
