  2. http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2014/06/chevron-makes-major-land-buy-in-katy/

As it continues to boost its Houston-area presence, Chevron Corp. has signed an agreement to buy 103 acres off the Grand Parkway and Clay Road in Katy.

The land  gives the company “future research and development facilities flexibility,” spokesman Justin Higgs said. “No specific use or employee decisions have been made,”  he added.

The deal cements Chevron’s commitment to Houston.

While the San Ramon, Calif.-based oil giant recently shelved plans to build a 50-story tower downtown, Higgs said the company is still committed to building the office project.

  3. Me :P. Here's the email I got a few days ago after signing up.

    Dear *******,

I am pleased to confirm your place on the certified list for Elevated Living Houston’s new high-rise luxury condo developments. The developer has chosen to guarantee a very open and fair sales process. The Marketing Center will not be open to the public. Your place on the list ensures your invitation to the Marketing Center, which opens this summer.

We will contact you soon with dates and times that accommodate your schedule. Please explore the attached Elevated Houston Introduction. I will also forward all updates from the developer.

The email contained additional contact information - another email adress and a phone number. No "Elevated Houston Introduction" was attached to the email. I emailed them back, asking for the introduction but have yet to receive a response.

  4. I thought this was the Park8 site, but it looks like this project is a little further south? *edit* It will be on the SE corner of the Belt and Beechnut.

The site for the proposed Chinatown hotel is located within a 15-acre mixed-used KP Plaza development at the southeast quadrant of Beechnut Street and Beltway 8. Other probable uses within the development include restaurants, retail and residential. The hotel is located one exit from the heart of the Chinatown District and is also near the Westchase District, and international District. The picture below shows the current rendering of the development.

The project includes an upscale hotel about 250 rooms, and 120 high-rise residential units, and 35,000 square feet of retail space with a pad site for a premier restaurant.  CRED group acquired the land since early 21st century, and the land, which is made up by two parcels, has a total aggregated size of 13.8 acres. A detention pond serves the site has been built and licensed by City of Houston.

  5. Mid-2015 Groundbreaking.

That sort of sentiment is echoed by Ric Campo, the chairman and CEO of Camden Properties, which is known throughout the city for its own luxury apartments.

“I think Downtown is finally on the verge of totally transforming into what so many of us imagined it to be,” he said.

His company has long had properties in Midtown and River Oaks and will break ground in the middle of 2015 on a Downtown project. He says the DLI was a tremendous incentive for him.

“It shows the city of Houston is willing to be a true partner to developers and can help us create the vibrant residential life we all want to see here in the city,” Campo said.

His yet-to-be-named project will take up two city blocks. As we went to press, Campo and his team were still working on the design process for the space, expected to be between 12 and 20 stories. Campo says he expects to attract a blend of young professionals who work Downtown or in the Texas Medical Center and empty nesters looking to downsize who want a residential life filled with amenities.

The office portion of Mid Main, a mixed-use development in Midtown, is slated to break ground as soon as preleasing is complete, Transwestern said June 2.

Houston-based Transwestern is in charge of finding office tenant(s) for the eight-story, 203,316-square-foot, Class A office building at 3501 Main St., which is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2016.

The office building’s 545-space parking garage will include 9,716 square feet of high-end retail space on the first floor. Houston-based Lewis Property Co. is leasing the retail space.
