  1. Unfortunately I didn't count as I was distracted by the Sweden vs Ireland match playing during lunch.
  2. Hotel Alessandra from street level. And from high above.
  3. Found a pic from the 20's, 723 Main is on the right (left foreground is now JWM) http://digital.lib.uh.edu/collection/p15195coll2/item/171
  4. Hate to 1-up you Monarch but not only did she like my reply as well, she also follows me. Mic. Drop.
  5. Could be a slight revision from gray to alternating shades of beige. But IIRC, while there is a deep gray used on the trim of the complex, there's also alternating shades of beige on some of the existing structures (like the old Books-A-Million space) and even on the brick pavers. The already have green signage (albeit small). They've added green roofs on the escalator canopies, some hanging vines in spots, and the lawn on the center block. Dallas St redo adds a tad bit more green too with its landscaping. Heck, they've even added a Salata lol
  6. See Hindesky's first pic - the zig zag patern is there. IIRC, it's going to be beige to fit with the rest of the GreenStreet complex.
  7. May be debatable but it appears Rangers new park may be borrowing Minute Maid Parks left field quirks, with a short porch and bullpen.
  8. Rangers Park in the same retractable roof style as MMP, Safeco, and Marlins Park. The Mets, Yankees & Twins all planned retractable roof led parks that would've been similar if constructed. For comparion:
  9. Renderings are in. Roof rail shows (even when retracted) like Marlins Park.
  10. Gosselin: Dallas loses again on Rangers' stadium because Arlington actually acts. http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texas-rangers/rangers/2016/05/19/gosselin-arlington-acts-dallas-talks-rangers-will-staying-put-keeping-cool?hootPostID=2c36781242bc3458d5ad7655b419c1e6 FWST quotes a $900 million dollar price tag due to soaring construction costs. Press conference at 1:30 pm http://www.star-telegram.com/news/local/community/arlington/article78764147.html
  11. If they do build at Lot B, it's likely they pave over Globe Life Park for replacement parking lots.
  12. Rangers to announce a new retractable roof ballpark in Arlington, possibly by Friday. Lot B is wide enough to fit a retractable roof park in the style of Minute Maid Park and is across from Texas Live. I'd expect a roof design similar to Marlins Park (roof and separate sliding wall) with HKS as architect. The trend lately is modern exteriors (Target Field, Marlins Park) ...do the Rangers go this route? A modern park could fit in well with the a Death Star next door. http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/texas-rangers/rangers/2016/05/19/sources-rangers-city-arlington-will-announce-plans-new-retractable-roof-stadium
  13. Great idea. In addition to Discovery Green Conservancy, I'd recommend DowntownHouston.org While you're at it, I've always felt David Adickes' Fab Four belonged somewhere downtown. Sure the Beatles have no connection to the city but it's a cool sculpture and should be displayed in a prime spot. And IIRC, it's still without a home, currently in storage at his Nance St office. Sculpture Hill. Bulldoze the hill for this? "We Love Houston" sign here could serve as a gateway for visitors being across the street from both Marriott Marquis & GRBCC.
  14. Put 69 below grade (since it already is south of GRBCC). Put 45 above grade with local streets passing through at grade.
  15. The first floor of the Polk side pictured above is also the first floor of the office building. 10 year lease. Pic update from above with facade going up.
  16. My lone pic from the Art Block Big Bash.
  17. Thought some of you would be interested in a pic update now that vegetation in the plaza has grown some...
  18. The nook now has glass going in. Obligatory "corner pocket" pic submission.
  19. Looking down below to Color Jam.
  20. Im here everyday ...I see the reactions to Trumpet Flower myself. The billboard over the $1.19 store is the weakest of the exhibits. THAT gets no reactions.
