I don't have the specifics for the height, floors, architect, etc. but here's what she's going to look like... I believe this is the view of the north side of the building that will face Market Square. This is based on the other renderings of the Chronicle site building. Block 42:

For real, I'm waiting to post the rendering of the block 42 tower until I am able to be congratulated by my peers. I NEED that gratification.- 1,569 replies

Hard to say. The first floor does appear to be taller than the others though, so maybe that's due to it having some retail space?

I think it’s (the massing image you posted) a good representation of the building. I only have one picture that’s black and white and it shows the glass curtain wall which I matched with the Market Square side because of the bend in the facade. The other material might be limestone or marble or slate...some kind of stone. It’s a brick/paver pattern but the pieces are larger than brick.

Just got sent a picture of a rendering for block 42 and unfortunately I can’t post it yet but I can say with confidence I think you all will like it. It matches the massing of the top down view blakevirgilio posted a few pages back. The wall facing market square is all glass with a little angle setback at the base of the glass. I’ll post it when I’m given the ok.

I think this image is the most "true" when it comes to height. It's basically a dead on look across at 609. Hard to say it will be taller because you can't see the crown in this render but it looks like it will be pretty darn close one way or the other.

WOW! I am impressed! This is gorgeous. Is this really a building coming for Houston?? Love the angle and love the inward pitched roof. Can't wait to watch this go up. Happy Wednesday to us.

I do have a few ND filters but they are for video to help slow the frame rate down (make the footage smoother). All photo edits are done through Lightroom and Photoshop.

I can confirm this is not a composite. This is just a combination of a clear day, good lighting and a strong telephoto lens. I'm guessing 600mm or so. I have shot images from this garage before (I just don't have that long of a telephoto lens) and the view to downtown can be quite nice with the right gear.

Thank you!

Thank you! I had a lot of people asking for some night time shots so I made more of an effort to get some the last few months. It's a little harder getting focus and keeping grain down because you have to crank the ISO so high, but still not a bad low light camera.
