  1. Anyone looking forward to any TV shows in 2020? HBO has a few programs I'm looking forward to. The Outsider and Curb your Enthusiasm will be premiering over the next few weeks. I no longer subscribe to Showtime or Cinemax, but those channels have wonderful original series. I used to be into Home Theater. Kept up with the latest TV shows, etc. Netflix is doing well. I just watched the second season of Lost In Space. Looking forward to season 3!
  2. https://realtynewsreport.com/2020/01/09/redo-underway-at-the-1001-fannin-tower-in-downtown-houston/ HOUSTON – (Realty News Report) – A multi-million-dollar renovation is underway at the 49-story 1001 Fannin building in downtown Houston. The 1.3 million square-foot Class A office building is located about three blocks from Discovery Green park. The tower’s modernization project includes a new 8,000-square-foot fitness center adjacent to an all new tunnel-level tenant lounge fully equipped with a variety of entertainment features, along with seating and gaming areas. Hotel-style enhancements to the building’s main lobbies have been completed and include new escalators, artistic lighting, and a new coffee bar with open seating areas offering a matrix of collaboration opportunities for tenants and their guests. In addition, a full renovation of the building’s North and South exterior plazas is slated to begin this month. The new improvements will provide collaborative lounging areas to further elevate the tenant experience both inside and outside of the building. Expected completion date for all building renovations is mid-2020 with the addition of a building conference center anticipated for delivery in 2021. “We have been involved with 1001 Fannin since it was originally built, and we are excited about the building’s future success,” stated Patrick Meara, president of UIDC Management, LLC, which Is the general partner of the tower’s ownership group. “The building’s location neighboring Discovery Green, Greenstreet, several new multi-family projects in the area and the Four Seasons hotel has always made it a very compelling option for the Central Business District’s top office tenants, and we are confident that our renovations will truly capture the future of the workplace.” “We are excited that building ownership has moved forward with these renovations at 1001 Fannin. The building has been and will continue to be a solid option for tenants looking for elevated office space in downtown Houston,” says Chip Colvill, CEO and president of Colvill Office Properties.
  3. Shriners Hospital for Children in Texas Medical Center is closing and parents are shocked https://www.khou.com/article/news/local/shriners-hospital-for-children-in-texas-medical-center-is-closing-and-parents-are-shocked/285-275e9430-e2e7-4939-aac0-5627a7566fac HOUSTON — A big change is coming to the Texas Medical Center, the Shriners Hospital for Children will be closing that location and consolidating with the Galveston branch in 2021. Mel Bower, Director of Marketing for Shriners, confirms the Houston Shriners hospital will consolidate with the Shriner’s hospital in Galveston. Bowers says they are consolidating to make services more efficient for patients, who he says shuttle back and forth between the hospitals. Bowers says one reason the Galveston location was chosen is, “The presence of the burns center in Galveston was an important consideration.” Shriners says they hope to bring as many of their current team as possible and that all services offered in the Med Center location will be offered in Galveston. "We will continue to offer all of our existing services, the benefit is that now they will all exist under one roof,” Bowers said. As for what will become of the building that one the Houston Shriners moves out, Bowers says they just don’t know yet.
  4. Tuesday Morning has closed down. I knew once Belden's closed, others would follow. Same thing happened across the street with the old H-E-B anchored shopping center.
