  1. Click dropdown menu with your username at top left, go to Settings, Forums tab, change Posts per Topic page to whatever you want it to be.

Thanks, now i feel stupid complaining about something i could change on my ownblush.gif

  2. Now i dont like to whine, but whatever its annoying.

Is anybody else annoyed by the page limits? I think thread pages are allowed to contain 40 posts!

This is new, because i remember it being half that amount. Anybody else notice this?

Editor, is it possible to go back? But why 40 posts/per page? Thats a lot of info. I guess in some ways its better, i dont have to go to the next page as often, but i actually liked taking that 20 pg break.

Anyways, just whats "disturbing" my HAIFy world. Im not annoyed in reality, actually just curious to whats behind the 40 posts/thread idea.

  3. Thanks for the shot. TMC definitely is going towards some interesting looking buildings, I love the curves on this one.

I think its just me, but imo, TMC is getting some repetitive designs....I mean how many recent building have some brown/blue mix in them? There are many examples of this style, especially the new tall one(forgot the name), and Texas Children's Hospital, and a bunch of other ones, as well. We haven't gotten any real glass buildings in TMC like St. Lukes, etc.

Sorry, that i didnt clearly express my opinion, but ive seen all these designs before, just one is a little taller, ones a little shorter, one has more glass, one curves, one has a spire with it, but it all boils down to that glass and stone mix thats become a little too fond.

But, thats my only complaint, at least TMC is still building.

  4. read carefully. it says nothing about parker.

well im basing it on that commercial that she said "we wont fund any museums or stadiums we cant afford."

I did read it carefully, and read the part where the chron says they asked Parker to clarify her position.

  5. I know voting for a candidate based on 1 issue is wrong, but it looks like Locke is pro-stadium development, and Parker isnt...

It might seem like years ago, but it's actually been only about six weeks since City Controller

Annise Parker released her first TV ad, which suggested her opponents were making fiscally reckless promises: "I won't raise taxes or cut police to fund more stadiums or museums we can't afford," Parker said in the ad.

Now the stadium, if not the proposed Hispanic museum, is surfacing again as Parker's runoff opponent, former City Attorney

Gene Locke, spreads the message that voters who want a new stadium for Houston's professional soccer team should support him.

    Blogger David Ortez

reports that representatives of Locke's campaign were at Sunday's Dynamo game against the Seattle Sounders, passing out flyers suggesting that Parker opposed a new stadium for the team while Locke supported the idea.

FYI, the Dynamo are heading to the Western Conference Finals(for the 3rd time in 4 seasons) against the LA Galaxy.

  6. Wow, it looks like Houstonians have woken up! 11180 Votes!

I think it was the Houston media that got us voting, with the newspapers, and tv stations mentioning how much of an economic boost we would receive, and the fact that Houston has a soccer culture, i guess that pushed us to vote. All they needed was someone to tell them that Houston was bidding.

Also, i was skimming though some cities, like LA,ATL,DAL,SF,NYC,OAK,MIA, CHAR,CHI, BOS,PHI, And it seems we have the most, i skipped some, so dont take my word. The closest number was Atlanta with 11,000+, followed by Philly with 9,000+the rest were ranging from 5000+to 1000+, so i'm pretty excited. But i dont think they'll base it solely on votes, but perhaps it'll give us the extra edge or push.

  7. Houston Rockets

    NBA champs 0

    Western Conference champs 0

    Division champs 0

    Houston Astros

    NL pennant 2005

    Houston hockey

    No NHL team

    Houston Texans

    2002-2009 record 40-72

    Yeah, glad we're not Detroit...

Houston Rockets, haven't they made it to the Playoffs like every year since 2001?or some other year. WE WERE THE ONLY TEAM TO PUSH THE LAKERS to 7 GAMES, says a lot about the Rockets.

Houston Dynamo, 2 Championships back-to-back in inaugural seasons. Going for the 3rd! And made it to the playoffs every season.

Houston Texans better than the Detroit Lions based on their records.

Good sports teams don't make a good city. Although i wish we had better teams, i am proud of the Dynamo and the Rockets.

  8. Something does not add up here with the proposed height of this building...

If its at 30 stories now - its the shortest 30 I have ever seen...you can hardly see the building on 59, and it looks way shorter than DT which is topped out at 30?

And if MP is going to 46 stories - only another 16 - how is it going to get high enough where it is supposed to be way taller than Discovery Tower??

Basically MP does not look that tall now, and if its 30/46 stories done, then its not going to look that tall when its done...

Unless the last 16 stories are going to be really high ceilings or something?????

Maybe the sky garden/lobby will add height. But, i agree very short for 30 stories. But lets wait until it gets topped off, before we complain about the height.
