Assuming someone works near the center of the city yes. But since downtown isn't the only employment center, the burbs are convenient locations for some.

sounds like they know rail isn't the solution to their problem so they are going to implement rapid bus lines in areas where density won't support LRT and expand their HOV system.

Looking at houses - should I crawl in crawl space?
musicman replied to richardtb's topic in Houston Real Estate
inspect the beams to see whether they are sound or rotten inspect for termite damage inspect beams to see whether more piers are needed, leveling needed. inspect cast iron drains to determine their state. as for getting bitten, wear long sleeve clothing, etc. obtain a powerful light so that the area you are inspecting will be well lit. EDIT: also look for standing water. if there is then you'll have to figure out how to stop this from happening. -

Do you make important purchases after planning? or do you just buy a product and just find out afterwards that it doesn't do what you want it to do?

going into houston it sounds like it. living in the burb is the epitome of social interaction. they all hang out together with their children playing at each other's house, playing teeball together and then out to dinner at chili's. -
Patio or small yard?

if you have wood floors inside stay clear. they'll be ruined. -
Yes tax dollars were used for a portion of the project however HCTRA kicked in 500 million for the toll road here which sure helps when funding is limited. Numerous organizations were involved here.

unless this is addressed as part of a capital improvements project, don't look for any changes.

Sunday afternoon i skated along macgregor by the rear entrance, it seems people are parking in the med center garage and walking across the street to enter the zoo at the rear entrance. the number of people doing this surprised me because there was such a steady stream.

why don't you send a letter to practically inept METRO since you're exhausted listening.

use based is older with clearly defined uses (commercial and residential are separate) which would make mixed use type things difficult to do. form based allows mix use type things but defines certain requirements so that each building has a certain placement, sidewalk width, windows facing street, similar height, etc.

Riverside Terrace Real Estate
musicman replied to jdbaker's topic in Museum District/Hermann Park/Rice University area
with crime being a major factor for you, the listings you've provide are in areas that most likely would not suite you. -
this is a major problem in quite a few areas. infrastructure isn't designed to provide the volume of street parking for businesses without hindering neighborhood access/parking for residents.
