  1. ps...sorry this is slightly off topic but it seems all the galleria area streets now have the cool sidewalks/lighting yet Post Oak Blvd does not...is this because they are working on the widening of the street for the metro bus project? the cool lights: http://www.hessamerica.com/Newsletters/201002/ and the bus/road project: http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Uptown-transit-plan-back-on-the-road-4585111.php anyone have any word that we will get these lights along Post Oak Blvd eventually?
  2. 1st) those huge posters of art can easily be changed one day for something else... 2nd) the only thing RD could do better would be if he had those changing color lights shining up on his buildings...nothing says class like changing color lights!!!
  3. yes i saw that they started working on the parking lot this weekend....cant wait to see how this all pans out because that lot does look super small!
  4. cool pizza place! cant wait! and agree with others above...westheimer and montrose corner needs to be revamped...please let me know when we have good news regarding that eye sore!!!
  5. Nice! and in a semi related post, i am moving next door to it at the end of the month! haha!
  6. how in the heck did my favorite thread about my favorite mcdonalds with a drive through get turned into the dumbest yet funniest thread ever?! lets stick to updates...i need to know when the mcdonalds reopens!

  8. well cafe adobe closed its doors at the end of the day on Mother's Day...may it RIP... now keep us updated with any new developments for anyone in the know!
  9. yeah it is a cool building in my opinion and i live just behind it on mccue. since my company a block away on sage banks with compass i went it to do a deposit today and they said they are on track for a May 20th grand opening! thats just a few weeks away! (we were in the old bank building but not moving back since our rent is so much less on sage now...boo! haha)
  10. i did call about their smallest apartment to compare with what i live in across the street... the one bedroom that is 600 or so square feet is 1300.00 per month...yikes...i will stay where i am for now anyway at at 750 sq feet for 975.00!
  11. man this place is really coming along and looks to be finished any month now... but wow the units on the ground floor that ARE finished have teeny tiny living rooms and bedrooms...it will be interesting to see if that is the norm or if there are floor plans with larger rooms....
  12. yeah almost across the street from my home and one block from my work....it is a kooky location, agreed! haha!
  13. i think it is a really great hang out place and the food was PRETTY good...glad the menu is a work in progress but in general love having a new place walking distance from my condo that feels lively, fun and cool and has an awesome outdoor patio. All in all i will be there often to support this new local business and hope to see some of you there. (ps...yes the service can be slow but its a new place and our waitress was super nice)
  14. ps...Sundance just put Prometheus 3D midnight screening tickets up online for this thursday night! get online and pick your assigned seats...see some of you there! gene
  15. yeah the HUGE difference is that Alamo has big events and has directors or stars sometimes come to screenings for q&a sessions etc...they show documentaries and show old classics or sing alongs etc and sometimes have a one night screening of all the movies that lead up to the sequel etc (ie. all the Superhero movies that lead up to The Avengers). Alamo is just a fun place with fun and cool events... Studio Movie Grill is just a cinema with food and drinks. and btw, i love the Sundance...there is never any kids, they serve great food although a small menu, liquor, beer and without a waiter walking in front of you during the movie...but one of the most important things is that they ONLY sell reserved seats which you choose online or there at the registers or kiosks they have...why is this so awesome? because you can go to a movie like The Avengers opening night and not stand in line for an hour waiting to get a good seat or get all your friends to sit together etc! You just show up right when the movie starts and sit in your reserved seat! all this and more is why the cost is a little more (Plus they validate/reimburse you for the underground parking so you never have to worry about where to park or how much it will cost etc). gosh, that was alot of information haha! anyway, love Sundance AND super excited about the new Alamo as well!
  16. wow how cool...and sounds like some amazing food is in store for us folks that have never cooked a day in our life
  17. gosh now i know how those flying monkeys felt when water was thrown on the witch...! goodbye ugly old building!!!!!!!!!!!! haha!!!
