  3. that comparison made me laugh out loud! comparing dog/horse races to a soccer team! haha! oh well...anyway, soccer has a huge fan base AND this stadium is in a convenient and "makes sense" location where those others are not I KNOW this will be successful and man i cannot wait to go May 12 and tons more times in the future!
  4. I will be there as well!!! cannot wait! my buddy who lives a block away however said the noise when drums and music is being played is over the top loud and can almost hear perfectly inside his home!!! yikes! haha
  5. Cool! I hope this place will be a great new place to walk to for me!
  6. i wanted to add two things... 1st, the old Marquee west is not called Marquee Uptown i believe but its looking fantastic as the new owner has completely remodeled all units, the lobby and pool area as well as the grounds in general...(this is also the owner of adjacent Carriage Square which he also updated and looks much better) 2nd, the new parking structure(?) of 2525 mccue seems to be shoved almost directly next to the Dominion's infinity pool area...i wonder how that is being received haha!
  7. amazing! it will be a hard place to keep cool in the summer months perhaps but i love the design... speaking of which i am loving that new restoration hardware gothic style mansion it is connected to! haha...i saw someone's comment in the feedback in your link and it made me laugh...

  15. well the whole strip from eatzis to cafe annie is being knocked down as i type (ongoing since this past weekend)... so, SOMETHING is happening! i will be excited just to see an empty lot instead of that ugly old plaza! and even better, no more painful memories of the eatzis i once loved and frequented on a nearly daily basis... thank goodness... haha
  16. i guess as long as they know its going to take they wanted to go ahead and plant some cheap bushes along san felipe just to make that new wider street look nice? haha that is weird but hey i guess it does look better than if they hadnt i seriously am counting down the days until they knock down that plaza....if anyone finds the date let me know!
  17. i would like to think they saw my post the other day haha that is awesome! i saw the fencing this morning as well! as a note, i work on sage and i live on mccue so i agree...love all my new street lights and cannot wait for the work to be done on blvd place! looking like its on its way...
  18. jeez, just knock down the old complex already...such an eye sore...plus i want all memories of Eatzis gone, as my heart still hurts over them just up and leaving houston haha!
  19. FYI http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/dining/6407232.html Goodbye Cafe Annie; hello Restaurant RDG By ALISON COOK These are the last days of Cafe Annie, the famous Houston outpost of Southwestern cuisine launched by celebrity chef Robert del Grande almost 30 years ago. The doors will stay open through the end of May. Then, del Grande and his partners will move the operation a few blocks south, to a location at the corner of Post Oak Boulevard and Ambassador Way. The new place -- targeted to open around the third week of June -- will gather three different dining concepts with three different menus under the umbrella name of Restaurant RDG (as in the chefs initials). On the ground floor will be the 30-seat Blvd. Lounge, described by del Grande as a drop-by meeting place for light meals, shareable hors doeuvres, cocktails and wines by the glass. Upstairs, the 80-seat Bar Annie will feature an outdoor deck extending from its front-of-the-room quarters, with a menu adapted from the current Bar Annies. Burgers, fun food, salads, all the things Houstonians like to eat, del Grande says. Fried shrimp, nachos, ceviche. Also on the second floor will be the 80-seat Grill Room, where del Grandes regional stylings will still be in play, although in less fancy form than at Cafe Annie. As Ive gotten older Im discovering I like things simpler, del Grande says. Here Ill be trying to focus on more primal fish and meats, then apply a little magic. In this era I wanted to make the restaurant more about the conviviality of dinner than the food itself. Not, he adds quickly, that the food wont be great. dine.features@chron.com Brought to you by the HoustonChronicle.com

  21. haha good stuff! that is what i feel like i am reading in every post "they" make! ha!~
  22. i am fine if they just finish this one building and then knock down the rest of the block and get that over with... that way all the tenants from the old buildings will have a new home and we can get rid of the eye sore that is the Pavillion and the Eatzi's plaza oy
