  1. Whoa...just saw this article:

    https://www.houstoniamag.com/slideshows/2018/10/31/the-rustic-downtown

    that states:

Beyond that, though, The Rustic will open a second Houston location at The Galleria, according to Free Range Concepts. The opening of that location is preliminary slated for summer 2019.

wow! cant wait...my area just keeps getting better and better! I wonder where it will be located...?! any ideas? Maybe Post Oak Corner? that would be the ideal spot in my opinion!

Still can't believe nothing is in the works for this corner still with all the work being done on Post Oak Blvd! (it is called Post Oak Corner as shown in the quoted thread)....you would think with this being the gateway to the new Post Oak Blvd, this would be prime realty... Anyone have a guess as to why it's still vacant and what would be a good fit? (I would think that Tillman would have picked this up to be part of his whole development)...

  3. haha yep! I live in a condo almost directly across from the galleria and work a block from my condo. so there is no commute however my area is my favorite area of houston... however i spend time all over houston with my friends who live all over houston and they love spending time in my area as well. And I am a huge supporter of locally owned businesses (especially in the heights...) however the place that was demolished not only was a wreck outside with falling siding and gutters and the facade in general needed major tlc, but my slight ocd was triggered whenever i did go in that store that had the nicest owner of one of the filthiest stores I have ever been in. So................................yeah I am glad it's gone and hope the owner and his family find a nicer place to be in that they are proud of enough to keep cleaner!

  4. I went Saturday and LOVED it! The breeze was amazing and try to sit on the right hand side of the "lawn" so you can see the most buildings as a backdrop...You get a small box of popcorn complimentary but its free refills...and love that Good Dog has a big outdoor stand there too! Chairs were fairly comfortable and forgot i was even wearing the wireless headphones after getting used to them (and how to turn up and down the volume haha). It was so nice not hearing anything at all, EXCEPT the movie. I have tickets to a few more screenings coming up so I cannot wait to go back!

    Such a cool experience!

  5. Sunday night I was with some friends driving down Post Oak at 9pm and you could see them screening a movie at Rooftop Cinema Club! Since it doesn't open until tomorrow night it must have been a test run or maybe some sort of training/employee event...but it did look cool to see the screen and all the little lights they have to define the space! I was asked to be their guest to the screening this Saturday night and was also the winner of their Month Of Movies Pass contest so I will be seeing 6 movies this month...cannot wait!

  6. I haven't been to a show in awhile...I need to get over to that area to check it all out...does it seem like there is a big boom in development of the area still? I hope the venue is being respectful of the neighbors and everyone is starting to be excited to have more things to do in that part of town!

  7. https://www.papercitymag.com/culture/magic-island-reopening-houston-magicians-comeback-haven/

"Now it’s time for the dramatic reappearance. Magic Island is on the brink of rebirth, set to open its doors this November after a distant decade."

wow! (i remember going here loooooong ago and just remember it being dark and dusty haha...so can't wait to see what they do!)
