  1. I agree with the 24hour starbucks and the park idea sounds good, but there's a high probability of it becoming run-down like the rest of the center if they were skimpy on the maintenance budget. As for The Putting Edge, I went one time and I thought it was so boring. I'm a fan of moving obstacles or "looping tracks" and stuff like that, this one only had glow in the dark walls ok ok the skee-ball final hole was good but more of the holes should have been like that.
  2. The space was formerly occupied by Cameron (for oil or chemical or something like that)...anyways the site would require a ton of prep and "decontamination" in order to build on it and although the government offers incentives for developers it's obviously too much of a hassle for anyone right now to have any interest in building there
  3. And all of this has to do with the Pavilions how?!?...I'd rather hear an argument on the jumbo trons
  4. If you're driving towards I-10 on Studemont they've updated a billboard to the left of the road stating that "We miss you too" and "Reopening soon"
  5. I guess I should start selling off my company paid-for spot in First City Garage right across from the House of Blues
  6. I'm really dissappointed that they didn't include an indoor ski park in the plan like in Dubai Geeze Houston! I think this is a great addition to the downtown area, I think in the next year after the economy swings up again we may have some exciting news as companies announce new stores for HP. I also think they were very creative with their common spaces in how the incorporated the drainage at an angle with built in seating and planters.
  7. Naw it's just the owner displaying their beliefs in a non-"IN YOUR FACE" way - Also, if you think Forever 21 messed up by placing their flagship store in an area with the wrong demographics, you should think of telling all the people downtown with that same yellow bag that they're shopping in the wrong area
  8. I still think it's a great space - just wish they would have a broader selection...on another note, I noticed on the pavilions website that Lids isn't opening until next spring, but the store looks almost complete...do y'all think other stores could possibly be opening sooner than projected? - I would think they'd try their hardest to take advantage of the Christmas season
  9. No Kidding - and I love how Judaism and all the other religions were put back in a section that I believe was called "other spiritual" or something like that
  10. It's Doable - might not suggest it at night though - I work in first city tower and sometimes the coworkers want to go to Frank's Pizza which is pretty much the same distance...it's not too bad but you will feel like you just walked off your dinner, which is always good I suppose
  11. There were tons of people in XXI - unfortunately they all work there and stand around doing nothing, just like Abercrombie and Hollister minus the people that walk around spraying the clothes with cologne
  12. Ha...Ha...real funny - Yeah they sell men's clothes up on the second level (very small selection though) - the one at mem. city has a men's section as well, really cool cheap clothes, some bad cheap clothes too though
  13. Just made my first purchase at XXI...this is starting to look like a bad thing to work only 2 blocks from the Pavilions
  14. Your update is soo last week - but yeah, looks like a typical mall website now, vacant spaces and all!
  15. I didn't realize there were still so many vacant stores...prime real estate for some big names, say apple?
  16. I don't think they're going to have an "opening party" per se for Cowboy Mouth, just a few nights of shows...and then the night of the Blues Brothers that your friend got tickets to will be the big celebration - I think most of the tickets were given away and then they auctioned off a few for a charity or something like that.
  17. Just looked at the website and the Dave Attell opening night has been cancelled - hopefully saturday is still going on and nothing is wrong/damaged with the facility
  18. not sure if anyone's said this already, but I think they should just turn it into the worlds largest parking garage, maybe with a few restaurants on the top level....at least then it would solve the parking problem and still look good from the outside.
  19. If Academy is going in, they must be vacating their location near Voss/I-10...I liked that one as it was unique...and what's with the tenant list? Is this Katy?!?
  20. I think they just meant that it was exotic in that it was the only one in all of Houston. Maybe they'll be "exotic" again sometime soon if they don't get out of their slump.
  21. I think the little red trails better represent all the cars that will be stuck in traffic when this place is built...haha
  22. now I see why downtown Houston has restrictions for building signage...that American Bank logo on the top of One Shoreline Plaza takes away from its interesting design...but great pictures nonetheless!
  23. The pictures posted are great and much appreciated, but do no justice to actually driving by and seeing the angle the building is going out on....with each floor it gets more and more exciting!...I wonder if the people in Dubai feel like this, or is this architecture too "classic" for them?
