Le Randall Davais?

I agree, I seem to remember people saying a few years ago that oil would never go back under $100 again.
There's been an interesting move in the market in the last couple of days. Oil appeared to move up slightly in reaction to news that the number of rigs drilling for oil dropped by 50 in the past week, according to Baker Hughes. I have this ugly suspicion that the Saudis are and the rest of the OPECers are going to wait for the count to go down sufficiently, then arrange to cut their production by a million or 2 million barrels. Then watch prices go up.
And the cycle begins all over again.

Low may it rise.

The pour was for the foundation of Amegy's new headquarters across the freeway.
Nice pair of brackets on either side of the Loop.

Sorry, that was a typo. Meant to say "30 story hotel."
Whew - for a minute I thought it was going to be another SpringHill Suites.
-
How many units would a 101-story building have held?....
Going by New York City standards, 202. Maybe fewer.

On your what list? I'm sure they find that most disconcerting and will immediately reverse course, track you down, and solicit your opinion as to what they should do with THEIR PROPERTY.
No, I think Campo has hired a hit man and intends to bury all critics six feet under the parking lot.
Just because he's the developer doesn't mean he isn't a blooming idiot.

Well, January 2015 demo, April 2015 start, so let's not get ahead of ourselves...
-
Incidentally, this particular D Day was supposed to occur on January 5, so it's only 8 days late for those who are counting.

Did they really mention a differential of 13 msf? Where will they put it all? (And when will they announce the rest of it? MemHermann and the Texas Children's Hospital expansion only account for about 2 million).

Old Town Alexandria? Does that mean the Little Theatre of Alexandria is that building located on top of my father's old lab space?

That's not a Hines ride, that's the beginnings of an Art Car.

Don't forget lawyers and accountants. They also take their share of space.
That said, it would be cool if Houston could lure somebody like Caterpillar to pull up stakes and come to town.

Plain boring boxes. Not to mention the beige color scheme. I'll take a curved roof any day.
It only looks beige against the evening sky. Besides, it's not beige, it's Champagne Gold!

My guess is core and shell is that much, and later we'll start seeing permits for fit-out at $10-15 million per floor. Either that or they're just building a garage. $24 million seems too much for just demo and sitework.
-
Building permit has been issued. This one's going up.
-
Nothing's been designed, but there's now a construction permit listed in HBJ. $24 million - superstructure and garage.

So either the drop will have no effect, or everyone is acting like a Christian Scientist with appendicitis:

By 2017, oil could be back at $80 a barrel. Just in time...

They're being very active for "Nuthin' goin' on"...
-
It's slipping...
-
The cynic in me says in five years they'd just throw the same crap up on the site but five years on. Might as well get it over with; I'm not getting any younger.

This tower is going to have quite the influence on the skyline from I-10. How many feet is it? 500?
Good guess. SSP lists it as 502'.

It may be his property, but he's still an idiot.
