  1. I check the Forbes List Every Year for Cities with the Most New Construction.

Houston has been in the Top 3.

    It often goes

    1. NYC

    2. Dallas

    3. Houston

Check out 2014 for some pinnacle of the boom bragging rights.

I'm actually surprised at where Dallas-Fort Worth ranks. While active, the area has not seen anywhere near the highrise development that Houston has. Knowing that two-thirds of the new Houston projects are petrochemical plants, I have to suspect a large share of the Dallas-Fort Worth projects are also other than buildings. There's been a lot of work on the DFW freeways and it is continuing for another few years.

  2. I didn't want to start a new thread for this, since I think there's got to be one already. Swamplot mentions a shelved project that was going to take down the Georgian Apartments on Willowick may be still in the offing. It was supposed to be a 40-story development. I can't imagine it being anywhere close to starting, but it's apparently still alive, as the buyer has received an extension...

  3. My problem is none of the real estate brokers in this town appear to have had to work hard to get tenants, and they've gotten soft and lazy.

Rumor has it that despite the apparent change of heart that two Fortune 500s had about moving to the Woodlands, there are still plenty of others looking to relocate from out of town. Have any of these developers like Crescent told them they have a building they'd quite like to lease up?
