  1. "While the agreement could allow TxDOT to reconsider some of the delays, officials have said the pause left them no choice but to plan for 2027."
  2. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but it seems pretty obvious they envision a second phase where more units would wrap around the rest of this parking garage, thus making this garage central to the entire complex. But I don't know, maybe that will never happen.
  3. Wow... wow... So we're willing to spend billions on highways by taking people's homes, demolishing massive multi-family complexes like Lofts at the Ballpark, and tearing down businesses but as soon as you mention rail, we can't do it guys! There's just no way! I'm telling you now, 40 years later, we'll be wishing we had made these investments now. The city is only growing denser by the month because people don't want to have to drive out an hour to their homes. And there comes a time where we can't have 30 lane highways coming into the city.... we will have needed to build commuter rail projects where suburban folk can park at a parking garage and hop on the train into the city. This is already done in other American cities and eventually we will have to do it here too.
  4. I've said this before and I'll say it again in this thread. The good slick link should be commuter rail from IAH into Post HTX. The rail line already exists and you would have to just build the connecting line west of IAH and then have it go underground approaching the runways and taxiways. It's what Denver does. It's something that we can do too.
  5. I can agree with you there. Either way, I'll enjoy this place with my family. Been out in Asia for several months and we are already craving Korean BBQ again. lol
  6. Most of the people coming here will definitely be coming from the burbs. With so many no parking zones or barely any parking in this area, I think they had to do it.
  7. It's hilarious how much this forum hates this development but I will say, so many within the Asian community are talking about this place in a positive light. Bori is quite famous in Spring Branch, so to be able to attend a major event in the city and then come here afterwards or beforehand is something that a lot of foodies and people who know the Bori name are excited for.
  8. I think you linked to this same thread. Have another link?
  9. Not sure. I would say just post it here and if it's something else, we can just create a new thread for it.
  10. Parking overflows onto Old Katy Rd here all the time. I wonder how XSpace will work with that.
  11. I will actually agree on this point and the left turn lanes needed to be removed at Heights Blvd since forever. That always led to back ups because it was nearly impossible for anyone to turn left during rush hour. Now that left turns are gone, the traffic does flow a lot smoother through there. Perhaps it was the first few days when these lanes opened that traffic was horrid (People didn't know what to do?). I will say, traffic times have been better since the bike lanes first went in. It doesn't take that long for me to drive from N Main to Shepherd anymore. That being said, I have family that lives on W 8th St. and they have told me traffic has increased dramatically. They walk their dogs on that road and loop back around on the MTK trail.... they said the traffic volume is quite noticeable, especially around rush hour. I myself have noticed a traffic increase on 14th as well and now there's a bit of a line that forms going eastbound near Studewood St. You may have to wait through several lights just to cross through there now. So now I wonder, have traffic times improved on 11th because people are now getting used to these bike lanes and the left turn removals... and/or.... is the traffic finding other back roads to take to avoid 11th St. Whatever the case, I seriously hope someone does a study on it.
  12. Since the comment period is long passed, I will probably unpin this relatively soon.
  13. Exactly. I was thinking of the Margaritas To-Go just down the street. My brother in law and I tried it out after seeing it all these years. And wow, are they strong!!
  14. Nice. I was also thinking if the crosswalk had speed sensors, it could raise a ramp to go 45 degrees so that the vehicle flies over the pedestrians to prevent any injuries to the innocent.
  15. Ok thanks. Was out of the country and it was impossible to load anything in Southeast Asia so figured it would be quicker if I just asked.
  16. What are the details on the improvements coming to Yale and Heights Blvd bridges?
  17. Just trying to make sure I'm reading this correctly but it sounds like McDonald's is gone for good in this area right? And that Houston First plans to build some under the bridge park here first with the Piece Elevated eventually becoming a skywalk?
  18. Is this the same Pho Fix that used to be in the downtown? Don't know the current underground food hall's name but it used to be called the Conservatory.
