This sounds really cool, but hopefully they will follow all of the environmental regulations that other states would have to follow in order to get Department of the Interior approval.

Sounds interesting. And since it's a specialty store, hopefully it will draw people from surrounding hoods in. I know if they carry Peruvian spices I'll be going there for sure because right now the only place I know to get Peruvian stuff is way outside the loop on Dairy Ashford (they said on their website they have Chilean stuff so that's close). I hope they carry enough general groceries to make it useful to residents as well. Has anybody ever been to their other store?

This gives you an idea of how it will impact the skyline from Buffalo Bayou / Allan Parkway. It won't be the first building you see, but it will fill in the gap between some of the other buildings.

MD Anderson Mid Campus 1 Building At 7007 Bertner Ave.
Jax replied to ChannelTwoNews's topic in Texas Medical Center
I guess that's why I decided to live in the Museum District, walking distance of rail, hermann park, all museums, and a few restaurants. I recommend that every new researcher in our lab move into my hood but they all move into apartment land (south of the med center) and then complain about how much they hate Houston because they can't walk anywhere. I don't blame them for finding their neighborhood boring but I am always surprised that they chose it above more interesting parts of town that are also convenient to the med center.- 141 replies

Cool, glad you like it. I gave away the link to the full sized version on my Flickr account to show off the quality of my new camera!

Texas Medical Center Restaurant And Bar Market
Jax replied to pineda's topic in Texas Medical Center
Until yesterday, I used to get 2-3 bars, EDGE and REALLY slow data rates (like 0.5 to 1 kb per second) on AT&T with my iPhone 3GS in Texas Children's Hospital and that was near the windows. If I went away from windows I would drop down to zero bars and no service very fast. As of yesterday, I now get 5 bars, 3G and 250 kb/second AND my phone works in all parts of the hospital, even away from windows!!! AT&T must have made some major changes. Just wanted to let all of you iPhone users out there know that you can finally use your iPhone in the med center without dropping calls and having impossibly slow data. I wonder where the new tower is... -
Damn, that's probably the lowest quality rendering I've ever seen!
