  1. When Newt Gingrich criticized Bush for not dumping Rumsfeld about two weeks before the election, Bush said that he did not want to use someone for political gain. As much as I don't like and agree with Dubya, I have to commend him for that.
  2. I wonder if anyone has bought and tried any of that stuff you spray on your license plates that makes the camera not able to read the letters and numbers on the plates?
  3. This looks more like a creek (or even a ditch) instead of a bayou.
  4. Sounds kind of like that double mirror restroom that you have pictures of under another topic. But at least you'd have privacy when you think everyone can see you. But what you're talking about there at the Hyatt Regency sounds like a nice place to have a drink.
  5. Yes, to me, the only good burger is a fat and greasy one! The higher the cholesterol to clog your arteries, the better! You could get one at Farrell's. Have a hot fudge banana split after that, and you're all ready for the emergency room.
  6. Excellent! I'd like to see more if you have any.
  7. I guess I can't even begin to fathom things like this because I've never had money. Rooms at places like the Hyatt Regency, Four Seasons, Derek, etc., costs a minimum of about $200 a night!
  8. Last month the Hyatt Regency advertised a New Year's Eve "package" that consisted of a room, meal in the restaurant, drinks in the bar, party hats, horns, etc. If I had lived in Houston I would have tried to buy one. It sounds like it might have been fun. I haven't been inside hotels enough to discern whatever distinctive aroma they might have.

G.I. Joe. When I was in the second grade I got one for Christmas. I took off his clothes and I said that he was walking down the street naked. My dad told me that a person would get arrested for doing that. I said: "REALLY???"
  10. I used to listen to KTRH all day long. Now I turn the radio off from 11am to 2pm now that Rush Limbaugh is running his mouth off for those three hours.
  11. We have so deep of a love affair with our vehicles that we would regard in horror the thought of no freeways.
  12. Yes, the Foleys that opened up over here in Parkdale Mall a couple of years ago is now Macy's. I can't keep up with all of these mergers. I'm not familiar with ANY remaining soda fountains with counters and stools in this whole area, and Beaumont's population is over 100,000. I think that there was at least one W.T. Grant in this area, but it folded MANY years ago.
  13. Seeing this picture shows how things have changed over the years. Today the sign has just the word RAMADA, not RAMADA INN.
  14. There once was a Farrell's here in Beaumont in Parkdale Mall. It gave dentists a lot of patients. Now there's a Fuddrucker's out in the parking lot near where the Farrell's was. Are there any Fuddrucker's in the Houston area?
  15. Yes, these are the exact photos that I was referring to. I guess that there are too many other tall buildings surrounding the Houston Hyatt Regency to be able to take a photo of it from a distance so that one can see its actual size like the Dallas photo does. Like I said, that's why I assumed the one in Big D was larger.
  16. I've heard that new things start out west and work their way eastward. Yesterday I heard that Houston's red light cameras will soon be installed over here in Beaumont. Have any of you ever gotten a ticket as a result of any of those cameras?
  17. I remember Weingarten's "store brand" products were "Food Club." Now, Wal-Mart has "Great Value", H.E.B. Pantry has "Hill County Fare", etc. They're probably all the same thing with their label on them.
  18. I'm laughing at what you said about the seats. My cousin referred me to this site. He said that he went to that theatre a long time ago.
  19. The picture I saw might have been on Hotels.Com instead of Orbitz.Com. The picture of the one in Dallas showed about four or five black-colored glass buildings which descended. They were next to what is called Reunion Tower. The picture was taken from a distance, but the one in Houston was taken of just the front entrance which made me think that it was smaller.
  20. I looked up the Hyatt Regency hotel on Orbitz.com. I saw the one in Houston and the one in Dallas. The picture of the one in Dallas looked huge, so I thought it was bigger than the one in Houston. But a co-worker of mine told me that both hotels are about the same size. She said that she stayed in both of them. The only picture of the one I saw in Houston just showed the front entrance. That's what made me think it was smaller than Big Ds. Have any of you ever stayed in one or both of those hotels?
