To add onto that, I'd extend the Green and Purple Line up Houston Ave (suck it Trinity Downtown) then it turns left on Washington Ave, runs through Washington Ave (and Westcott St) and Old Katy Road to the NWTC.
HGAC is actively doing engagement for Washington Avenue, if you havent already, leave a pin on the map about your suggestion at Houston Ave/Washington Ave intersection :)

Now this is JUST A RUMOR, but a METRO Rail operator said that METRO was told to use the money for other things....
As someone who riders METRO almost every day, I've also noticed that the small METRO ads on the rear windows of buses (like "This lift is just a $1.25", "Drive less...do more" and "Come work for us" (just to name a few)) have been rapidly decreasing as well.

Opposition from whom?
Residents east of here are complaining about the proposed parking variance at Westheimer at Yoakum and asked Councilmember Kamin to request a deferral at the planning commission. Many people in the area continue to show up to METRO Board Meetings to complain about the proposed BRT on Richmond Ave. I'm sure similar groups would also show up to voice opposition if anything major was planned in this area as well.

At 3:30pm, it was updated to include this statement: "The partnership anticipates breaking ground in late 2025. Plans include 1.5 million square feet of "complementary luxury uses" including office, retail, hospitality, multifamily and "ultra high-end" condominiums."

Uptown Galleria-area property on Post Oak sold for mixed-use (houstonchronicle.com)
"Oil exploration company Apache Corp. has sold a prime 6.3-acre parcel on Post Oak in Uptown, where a newly formed real estate venture plans to build a luxury mixed-use development.
The land at 1750 Post Oak is across from BLVD Place, home to Whole Foods and restaurants such as North Italia, True Food Kitchen and Ninfa’s. It was purchased by 1750 Post Oak Partners, which was formed by leaders of real estate firms Crescent Real Estate, Senterra and Doggett Industries, according to Transwestern, the real estate brokerage that represented the buyers.
The partnership didn't detail plans for the property, other than to suggest it could be used for an upscale mixed-use development."

Thanks for sharing @JLWM8609. Not sure what is going on. Train 106 and 401 are both in the old all gray color scheme.

And sidewalks on the east side of Hollyhurst Lane are completed as well!

Park Eight is in the "parking variance" section for this weeks Planning Commission on May 2. Looks like they want to operate a shuttle between the development and the rest of Westchase connecting the development to the terminus of the University Corridor at Westchase Park and Ride. Below is a map:
Also included is this site plan:
And two additional renderings (which I believe was posted earlier in the thread, but just posting it just in case):

Got a new angle of the rendering from an instagram ad today.

I wonder if Frontier will use the A3 gates now? I think Frontier has briefly moved to using some D gates as they have expanded quite a bit recently at IAH.
-
With news that retail is finally coming into this development, I wonder if they'll remove the barriers to their Westheimer entrance. It looks so weird right now with the planters basically blocking the entrance to the garage.

Thanks for sharing the article @IntheKnowHouston. Glad to see they will add a sidewalk on the east side of Hollyhurst Lane.
Quote from article: "Fertitta doesn’t plan to make significant changes immediately to the nine-story building at 777 Post Oak. However, he is adding landscaped sidewalks to enhance the walkable connections between the office building and the rest of the Post Oak Hotel campus."

Homeless project near Beyoncé-backed complex sparks debate (houstonchronicle.com)
Article in the Chronicle.
Provides a good overview of the project: "13 floors of housing for the formerly homeless. To do so, the nonprofit is asking Houston for permission to build closer than 25 feet from the property line." Each studio unit would be around 340 square feet.
The article then brings up the people opposed: "But lawyers representing the owners of a block of land nearby have protested that the variance would make the area less pedestrian-friendly, which is the purpose of the city rule limiting how close buildings can be to property lines. The permission could also curb the possibilities for any potential park that could take the place of the bordering Pierce Elevated, which is slated to be removed as part of the Interstate 45 expansion, they said."
Personally, from the renderings above, I dont really see how it would be negative for the pedestrian experience. This actually would provide more eyes on the street and I think it would actually make that area of Midtown feel safer because there will be a development with windows and lights and not an empty grass patch near an underpass.

we need to look at things with a bit of reason
I think some reasonable responses should be looking at trying to make the Silver Line better. For example, connecting the 9-Gulfton route to Lower Uptown TC...which would then allow an easy transfer between Silver Line and HCC West Loop Campus. Get TSP (transit signal priority) up and running along the corridor. Advertise the service to Galleria employees. There are a many other things the agency could look at it to make the line more successful instead of cutting frequency.

People are making this a big deal but Metro is always adjusting service to different routes based on overall demand. As the area continues to grow and change, this line will become more important. Especially when the University Line is built.
Yet, critics continue to say the University Line and Inner Katy should not be built based off Silver Line ridership. Ridership has been growing recently, so the concern is that the frequency change could have a negative impact on future ridership growth for the Silver Line. This could be a concerning look for the future of BRT in our region. That is why it is a big deal.

METRO also calls it Marron Park Way on their University Corridor alignment map.

I have been away from the Galleria for a few years and notice the beacon atop Transco/Williams is no longer turned on. It used to be on every night for decades. An acquaintance claims a lawsuit now limits its use but I can't find anything on that. What did I miss?
It is on tonight :)

Last point.... and, as a bicyclist, this is the part that really makes me upset with the city. On Sunday, I biked the route pictured below. The east side bike lanes (think Polk St) were a complete mess.... either full of water from Friday's rains.... or covered in dirt... or rocks... or trash. There was even a part of Waugh Dr in Montrose that I was biking back on and it looked like a lake in the bike lane! I had to hop into the vehicle lanes until the water cleared. If the city is going to invest in bike lanes, then it also needs to take on the responsibility of cleaning them up.

Did that building flood (during Harvey)? It seems like it really wasn't built up.
From what I can remember, it did not. Water did get pretty close.

The stop you referenced remains closed, I.e., inactive. As do all the other stops at the right turn locations that were closed when the transit lanes weee installed.
Genuinely curious what caused you (and others in this thread) to say otherwise.
METRO put back the stops on Travis in the right turn lane with the route numbers. They were up for around 4-5 days. They have now since been switched back to the bus stop flag that says "stop closed". Attached is a photo of the right turn lane stop at Travis and Preston (photo taken (3/1)). It not is back to saying stop closed (as of 3/23).
