To add onto that, I'd extend the Green and Purple Line up Houston Ave (suck it Trinity Downtown) then it turns left on Washington Ave, runs through Washington Ave (and Westcott St) and Old Katy Road to the NWTC.

HGAC is actively doing engagement for Washington Avenue, if you havent already, leave a pin on the map about your suggestion at Houston Ave/Washington Ave intersection :)

  2. Now this is JUST A RUMOR, but a METRO Rail operator said that METRO was told to use the money for other things....

As someone who riders METRO almost every day, I've also noticed that the small METRO ads on the rear windows of buses (like "This lift is just a $1.25", "Drive less...do more" and "Come work for us" (just to name a few)) have been rapidly decreasing as well.

    Opposition from whom?

Residents east of here are complaining about the proposed parking variance at Westheimer at Yoakum and asked Councilmember Kamin to request a deferral at the planning commission. Many people in the area continue to show up to METRO Board Meetings to complain about the proposed BRT on Richmond Ave. I'm sure similar groups would also show up to voice opposition if anything major was planned in this area as well.

  4. Thanks for sharing the article @IntheKnowHouston. Glad to see they will add a sidewalk on the east side of Hollyhurst Lane.

Quote from article: "Fertitta doesn’t plan to make significant changes immediately to the nine-story building at 777 Post Oak. However, he is adding landscaped sidewalks to enhance the walkable connections between the office building and the rest of the Post Oak Hotel campus."

we need to look at things with a bit of reason

I think some reasonable responses should be looking at trying to make the Silver Line better. For example, connecting the 9-Gulfton route to Lower Uptown TC...which would then allow an easy transfer between Silver Line and HCC West Loop Campus. Get TSP (transit signal priority) up and running along the corridor. Advertise the service to Galleria employees. There are a many other things the agency could look at it to make the line more successful instead of cutting frequency.

People are making this a big deal but Metro is always adjusting service to different routes based on overall demand. As the area continues to grow and change, this line will become more important. Especially when the University Line is built.

Yet, critics continue to say the University Line and Inner Katy should not be built based off Silver Line ridership. Ridership has been growing recently, so the concern is that the frequency change could have a negative impact on future ridership growth for the Silver Line. This could be a concerning look for the future of BRT in our region. That is why it is a big deal.

I have been away from the Galleria for a few years and notice the beacon atop Transco/Williams is no longer turned on. It used to be on every night for decades. An acquaintance claims a lawsuit now limits its use but I can't find anything on that. What did I miss?

    It is on tonight :)

Last point.... and, as a bicyclist, this is the part that really makes me upset with the city. On Sunday, I biked the route pictured below. The east side bike lanes (think Polk St) were a complete mess.... either full of water from Friday's rains.... or covered in dirt... or rocks... or trash. There was even a part of Waugh Dr in Montrose that I was biking back on and it looked like a lake in the bike lane! I had to hop into the vehicle lanes until the water cleared. If the city is going to invest in bike lanes, then it also needs to take on the responsibility of cleaning them up.

The stop you referenced remains closed, I.e., inactive.   As do all the other stops at the right turn locations that were closed when the transit lanes weee installed.

Genuinely curious what caused you (and others in this thread) to say otherwise.

METRO put back the stops on Travis in the right turn lane with the route numbers. They were up for around 4-5 days. They have now since been switched back to the bus stop flag that says "stop closed". Attached is a photo of the right turn lane stop at Travis and Preston (photo taken (3/1)). It not is back to saying stop closed (as of 3/23).
