  1. Tried the coffee today and it’s a nice space. Great landscaping. Coffee is good even though it seems barista has only made coffee 3 days and really glad to hear they bake every pastry in house!

sad that the parking lot is what welcomes you to the space but that’s just how the building was before this project.

  2. Three adjacent lots owned by the same person:

    • 801 W 11th St - empty lot (used to be mechanic shop) now leased by Loro for parking
    • 804 W 11th St - blue little house (up for lease sign)
    • 720 W 11th St - Heights Clinic

Does anybody know if there are any cool plans for this powerhouse of a corner?

  3. Company of Nomads was managing the food hall leasing it out from East Park. after CoN couldn’t make payments anymore, Easy Park did away with them and brought their own management team.

Now in addition to automated parking garages and property management, they’re getting into the food hall management business.

now, I have a friend that leases a space at railway heights and he told me the new management company has “many plans” for the food hall. One of which is to bring in a brewery that would bring in a more steady flow of customers. Each tenant was evaluated and only some were asked to renew for another year. Those that weren’t so lucky are going to be replaced

  4. This isnt the first time I hear of this concern due to environmental cleanup, but never from TxDOT themselves. I've had a few meetings with TxDOT about making the area into a park with more defined trails and other amenities such as boardwalks, amphitheaters on the banks, etc.  Their Director of Hydrology approves any use that does not affect the volume capacity of the basin. Of course, they approve of the project so long as someone else is maintaining it - this is the tricky part.

They have not expressed any environmental concerns.. Maybe he doesnt know about them? Or is it possible that after 10 years of filtering rain water, the ground may have remediated much of the impact 🤪

the new route that you had to take (until this up coming weekend) from the running center to the picnic loop forced you to bike south down the dirt road behind the run center along the train tracks to then the trails in the woods etc to get to the picnic loop...i didn't mind doing that too much as i love the trails....but yes i live directly across from the galleria and realized the hard way that the dirt road along the train tracks doesn't go anywhere when heading further southbound past the trails in the woods (except to a dead end)...so yes i agree...make that go all the way through, and an actual bike path instead of a dirt/gravel road would be awesome.

ps...just a reminder that the all new path and land bridges open this weekend at memorial park with events all saturday and sunday!

Sadly it looks like they've pushed the grand opening to sometime next year

  6. Heard from somebody that this property will/has change/d hands and the new developers are seeking a roadway extension of W 6th St across the detention pond. Can anyone do some magic to find out any proof of this? My take is that there should be a connection across West 6th St on the detention pond but they should be boardwalk style and for pedestrians only.
