Can we not edit posts anymore?
I meant to write "Haven't flown internationally out of IAH since April, when Terminal D was ripped down to its studs and didn't even have floors."
-
I wonder how much of that is affected by all the construction.
Haven't flown internationally out of IAH since April, but my understanding is tremendous progress has been made on Terminal D in that time. I have flights out of there next week and in mid September. Look forward to seeing just how much/how quick that work is being done.

Vinny's survives 😍
Yup! I'm glad even though I miss that Detroit style pizza.

Seems like a bad spot for a light pole. Does this mean the street is being closed to cars?
Almost certainly part of a bike lane. There was one on the road before.

Booooo to Little Louie's moving to the Heights
Their problem was definitely more "switching concepts three times," and not the neighborhood, I feel.

East River is becoming a maritime hub I see. Port of Houston operations center. Young & Towing co hq. Houston maritime center. Who’s next?
My office is right across the street, though I admit I am not as cool as PHA.

Does that mean How to Survive On Land And Sea is going away? That's too bad, if so
It could be Cafe Louie's space they are moving into, but I suspect it's How to Survive.
I think it changed ownership and focus recently and has gone way downhill. Think "wine with chicken wings" (not a joke).

I mean...it's a 20 min walk from Concept Neighborhood to Little Woodrow's per Google. That's not bad even for Houston standards (except peak summer, obviously).

Would love to see a flight to Luanda. Heard great things about it and I have some clients there...

Looks great, imo. But also, already posted and discussed on another thread, here:

For sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they were just stretched thin. They opened two restaurants (Grill and Seafood) around the same time.

That's odd. Gatsby's seems to be quite busy whenever I walk by.

Love it. Live right by it and if it looks like that, it will be beautiful.
I ran into some folks from the city that were at the park to look at it "for a future art installation." Didn't expect this. That said, if this does get solar panels, I guess it explains why they removed quite a few from the Esplanade. This should generate more than enough.
Now, whether this will just become a giant umbrella for the local homeless community or not...we will see.

Just got back from Post and their H-Town Market. Those who follow Editor will not be surprised to learn that he wildly misrepresented the variety of vendors.
Was there tonight too. Agreed completely. Held my tounge earlier cause I actually know a few of the vendors and didn't wanna seem biased, but, yeah...

Ah, gotcha, I see what you mean on the third floor. Yes. Perhaps it's just for balconies on the residential units?

I don't get the slight curve with this one away from runnels streets. Maybe I'm missing something but it doesn't seem to serve any purpose?
I think it may be some optical illusion (possibly caused by a wide angle lens?). The project appears to be straight-on along Runnels in person.

I really like how this looks at street level driving from the south across the bayou and over the trees. Do projects like this generally include road repairs? Jensen is getting to be in rough shape between this and East River (also seemingly very narrow lanes across the bayou but that's a separate issue).
They have been fixing the road periodically but most of those fixes only last a few months because yes, Jenson is an absolute disaster right now.
No idea who is paying for those repairs though.

Dominos in walking distance is gonna be trouble for me.

Strange. My daughter got married last year, June 11th, at the Ronin venue (pretty great place btw). It seemed to us that Night Shift was open and doing fine, there were people in there watching the Astros game that evening. Hmm...
Night Shift ended due to a dispute between management and talent, so it wasn't an issue of lack of business.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

The list provided was for intentional flights, and both international terminals (D and E) plus C to a degree are under consideration right now. That's what I was referring to, less so the rare International flight to Canada in Terminal A.
