  1. That view from Waugh and Dallas looks great but... oh man, is Rosine Street ever going to be a sunless, parking garage hellscape when it's finished! Google street view of Rosine Street: https://bit.ly/3kImrKQ
  2. It's possible that tiny bit of parking is for H-E-B's curbside pickup.
  3. They have a nice small "market" on South Flores Street just south of the main part of Downtown. It's kind of like a small version of the Dunlavy store. For the most part, H-E-Bs in San Antonio are not that exciting... easy to be that way when you're the only game in town.
  4. The renderings on their website show the base of the tower looking like stainless steel tupperware, too. 🤷‍♂️https://residencesattheallen.com
  5. The vertical panorama function on my drone comes in handy in Houston.
  6. No townhouses, that's for sure. If memory serves, older single family homes, small apartment houses, empty lots and, I think I remember TIRR (The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research) had something on the block this is being built on.
  7. Yeah, that makes sense. Must be that I'm too old to still care much about the pool.
  8. Has it been mentioned that it's odd that the pool deck and all those surrounding windows and balconies are facing away from Downtown? Seems like a major waste of a spectacular view. I guess they think having afternoon sun is more important.
  9. Maybe, except there is a building on the master plan exactly where the hotel is to be located (Southwest corner of Loretto and W. Main).
  10. Saw it last week. Here's the link: https://www.booktandl.com/trip-inspiration/houston-art-museums-kinder-menil-turrell-rothko I was a little disappointed at first when I read that the author lives in Texas (Austin). Then it became apparent he isn't from Texas, he seems to be from NYC and just lives here part of the year, so I felt all better again. 😉
  11. Maybe so, but my response was to the suggestion that "neither side of the street matches" the master plan. As it stands right now, the east side of the street (vacant lot = park) matches the plan perfectly.
  12. IKR? Though I don't blame them for objecting, or even for fighting it legally, they knew what they were getting into when they built their McMansions in that area.
  13. There is currently a big empty lot on the east side of Loretto Drive, just south of the Menil Drawing Institute, which corresponds exactly to a park space in the master plan. The image comes from a thread in this forum, the link to which is right under the plan image in my post.
  14. Apparently it took 12 years from purchasing the land to opening the building in Toronto. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ismaili_Centre,_Toronto
