  1. LOL! The Adventures of the Little Red Riding Bag the famous Skalgubar girl travels through renders and visualisations https://littleredridingbag.tumblr.com/
  2. If people in "reality" television actually got fired for stupidity there would be no "reality" television.
  3. Off topic: I was skimming through HBO Max's new "reality" series about the wealthy Vietnamese family who live in River Oaks to see how the shots of Houston look. Just barely into the second episode I turned it off in disgust. Can anyone guess why?
  4. OK, not specifically for "Highrise Tower" but, I have to ask. For DECADES, when heading west on West Gray through Waugh, I would always see the two Four Leaf Towers straight ahead in the distance. I haven't been home since late February so I haven't been able to look, but I'm guessing this building blocks one or both of them. Somebody will, of course, go out and take a look for me...right? 😛
  5. That's what struck me last year when I was in the sculpture garden imagining the removal of the wooden barriers. I also think the Glassell's plaza makes the garden much more inviting to people on the street.
  6. Are you casting aspersions on the great Nancy Sarnoff??? 😮😯😲😳 </joking>
  7. Yeah, I know, but Dallas has a lot because Preston is a major road. The Chronicle's article states that "Preston" is being used by apartments throughout the country but only Dallas is specifically mentioned. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Hines-renames-downtown-apartment-tower-15702576.php
  8. I miss the pre-remodeled La Tapatia with its pickled vegetables and free soup with every order.
  9. What I mean is: There are boring glass curtain walls and there are interesting glass curtain walls. This one is boring.
  10. Maybe after it's finished, and all lit up in the evening, and the retail spaces are all open, and I finally get back to town to see it in person... maybe I'll change my mind about it. I don't hate it. It's definitely better than certain other buildings downtown (I'm looking at you Wedge International Tower, Three Allen Center and yes, you, Heritage Plaza).
  11. I think it's mostly the boring glass curtain wall, especially on the parking garage. I must note that I haven't even been to Houston since the glazing started, so I haven't seen it in person. But I also don't like the top all that much and I don't like the entrance. I'm not a big fan of 609 Main, either. Again, mostly because of the boring curtain wall. I LOVE the exterior of 811 Main (BG Group Place)...just not thrilled with the notch that makes it look like a giant BIC lighter.
  12. OK. I'm just going to say it and suffer the consequences. I don't like that building. There.
  13. There's a tub in the master bath. It's the oval near the left wall.
