"The Houston Airport System (HAS) is seeking industry information and input for innovative strategies and approaches from highly qualified firms that can be applied or included in the development of a subsequent Request for Qualifications (for Statement of Qualifications – RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP) that support attainment of the EFD/HSP goal to develop and construct an approximately 120,000 sf specified building with potential uses of light manufacturing/assembly for advanced products, high bay, and office space at Ellington Airport (EFD)/Houston Spaceport (HSP). EFD/HSP is open to, but not limited to, business models provided by a firm (or team) with competencies to Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Maintain (DBFOM)."

I really like the idea of this space.

I also feel like I'm about the only person around that likes the design of the Family Law Center.

Wouldn't hate it if it could be repurposed into a learning space or museum/archive that could serve the purpose and mission of the surrounding park area. I won't be too terribly heartbroken if it comes down however.

If, when it comes down, you find yourself missing it, go take a tram tour of NASA Johnson from Space Center Houston. You'll see plenty of buildings like this one!

Wow.  That's a lot more parking lot and a lot less "public gathering and tribute space" than I expected.  I've seen convenience stores bigger than that.  Though I guess a surface parking lot is an appropriate "tribute" to Houston.

Looking back at the PDF, I guess I should have noticed that it's just a patch of grass with some pavers and a ramada in the middle next to a cinder block wall.

I'm so disappointed the Archdiocese gave up its opportunity to create Houston's own Main Plaza, Jackson Square, or Sister Cities Park.

  4. Redevelopment of the remainder of the Legacy Point or the Union property will begin by March 2025. They will be partnering with LV Collective, a student housing developer out of Austin. This will bridge a major gap in College Station's urban fabric and further help make the north side of campus truly urban.

  5. Potential redevelopment of the northeast corner of I-45 and FM 517 in Dickinson into a truly mixed use district. This would consist of the now-condemned Creekside Apartments and a strip center whose largest tenant (StarFine Furniture) is currently closing. This would be a welcome replacement for the sad shopping center currently there!
