  1. One of the more anonymous "box" buildings in Houston's skyline. The black glass facade looks very 80's ish.
  2. The old Club Blue is now called Club Cirque, its been remodeled on the inside & is an improvement from what I've heard.
  3. Club Habitat with long time Houston Dj, Michael Degrace every Saturday night from 2am-? 1415 California
  4. Not trying to bring Dallas in on this discussion, but lets face it their night skyline puts Houston's to shame. On a clear night I've seen Downtown Dallas from 30 miles away glistening in the night sky over the vast North Texas prairie.
  5. I've heard the original Lizard Lounge in Houston which is not in existence anymore was owned by the same owner that has the popular Lizard Lounge club in Dallas which is very well known for its Electronic Dance Music & Goth/Industrial crowds. Next month will be Lizard Lounge Dallas' 15th year anniversary (almost an eternity in club years)
  6. So Clarks/Deans is no more or did they reloctate? It looked like a nice recording studio/club/clothing store which was a very unique & cool concept
  7. OMG!!! I'm lost for words! You are one lucky person, I'm sure the only people that have ever done that before are the ones that maintain the beacon.
  8. Texaco Heritage Tower had the office lights lit up in the shape of a huge star a few weeks ago, kinda like the way they had the number 38 for the Super Bowl.
  9. One thing that contributes to Houston's dull night skyline is the height restriction for corporate names & logos on top of buildings. I find that to be so rediculous in Houston of all places, the billboard capital of the world. Dallas on the other hand, which has a beaufitul night skyline has neon & corporate names illuminated on top of most all buildings in the city. On a side note, I was driving by downtown at night last weekend & noticed the ExXon building, which several months ago during the Astros play offs had changed their white "christmas" lights to blue, are now white again. So much for being different...

  11. Yes sir, the one standing now was completed in 2003.
  12. My favorite Houston buildings at night: 1. Williams Tower - its bright rotating beacon sweeping over the Uptown skyline which can be seen all over the city. 2. Reliant Energy Plaza - the color changing vertical lights on top 3. Continental Center - the blue Continental logo being projected on top 4. Bank of America - the up lights look very fitting for this gothic design, not too bright, but still show off the sharp-pointed "steps" 5. Wedge International Tower - green neon lit top, but wish it was still completely outlined like BOA in Dallas 6. Wells Fargo Plaza - white neon lit top 7. Centerpoint Energy Plaza - circle of white lights inside its "top hat" look very futuristic 8. 1500 Louisiana - also a very futurustic lighting scheme on top. 9. Exxon Mobil Tower - brownie points for changing the dull yellow lights to blue ones. 10. Chase Tower - the same dull looking yellow lights used on many Houston buildings doesn't do much for me, especially on the tallest building in Houston & the state of Texas, but it does make the building clearly visible from far away due to its enormous height. Its weird though, sometimes the lights on top aren't even lit for months, then suddenly its all lit up again....
  13. Here are some night shots I took last year on a very cloudy night hence the orange sky from all the city lights. I wonder how come they weren't lighting the top for awhile, then after the Super Bowl its been lit ever since? I like it better at night now, makes downtown more visible from a far.
