  1. New homes and big master-planned communities like The Bridgelands. They have some ranch style homes near Katy City Limits, too.

Editor, Continental definitely has the upper hand in the merger. It is the more profitable airline and healthier airline. The best of the Legacy Carriers. United is just overall larger.

It has been said that the CEO of Continental would be the head of a potential Continental-United merger. The CEO of United would take a different (but still very important) position.
  4. Krispy Kreme wins. Those glaze donuts were so good. Plus, you get to watch them MAKE the donuts while EATING them?!
  5. Yeah, 288 needs an HOV each way (with space in the middle for just greenery or rail, but a tollway will probably happen...sadly).

Will this be the actual design for the billboard Editor?
  7. Hermann Park isn't too far from TMC workers or Museum District residents. Especially with the rail right there.

    No to the entire post.
  9. http://www.sixflagshouston.com/forums/view...8&start=105 There you go.
  10. There has been word at another forum that Universal may be getting involved with this park. Mostly to stake a claim in Texas (Six Flags and Sea World do). That, and the guy who designed Universal Studios Island of Adventure theme park in Orlando, as well as the guy behind Universal's Jurassic Park movies, is designing this theme park. Universal Studios Texas or Universals' EarthQuest sound like some good names .
  11. Rockets didn't play at TC yesterday. The Astros game was at 6.

Much better editor. I thought you would have to redo all of the old ones.
  13. That big surface lot directly to the north is going to be a convention center hotel. Tell me, how will there be more room for highrise residential if the park takes up more land?
  14. Fountains is not DG and the surrounding areas. I don't see people from other suburbs traveling to the Woodlands for some fountains. The Fountains at Waterway Square is great for the Woodlands and vicinity (Conroe, northern Spring, etc.).
  15. I don't know. I don't see anyone traveling to the Woodlands from say, Katy, Sugar Land, or Pearland just to see fountains. It is a nice for Southern Montogmery County though and the pictures look nice. DG is a landmark for Downtown and the Inner Loop. Once light railg ets up and running, it will be even more accessible. It is there for relaxation before/after concerts, Rockets, Aeros, Astros, future Dynamo games. It is there for GRB Conventioners wanted a place to just rest. It is there for the many future residents hopefully coming Downtown. And let me take a wild guess as to why it cost $100 million? Could it be the higher land prices Downtown than in the Woodlands? Could it be the underground (two-level) parking garage (and all of the other features)? Also, no suburb has a park like DG. None, especially in its setting. If you can find some, post them. By the way, what is so natural about fountains? Enlighten me.
  16. I saw this thing from the Beltway at 290 on Friday. Looks pretty damn massive and really sticks out. I like the way it looks from that far away, but the closer you get and see that crown...
  17. Northern terminus is IAH, and southern terminus could be Missouri City. Just guessing.

What the hell happened to all of the HAIF icons and forum skin?
  19. It was said in the first post of this thread. "Discovery Green's opening tomorrow, however why isn't anyone talking about the fountains that were turned on today at the Woodlands Waterway Square?" Those fountains don't compare to DG and what it is doing for the city. That's probably why no one was talking about them. That, and the DG thread is a few years old now.
