  1. You closed before the tile was fixed? Never close until the house is in the exact condition you expect it to be as stated in the contract.
  2. I use thehaif.com everyday... please dont change it...
  3. I know their prices are insane, but for me part of the ballgame experience is getting the chili-dog and nacho's. Bringing my own just wouldnt be the same.
  4. My suggestion... go to one of those automatic car wash places and ask for their used plastic barrels... the type the soap comes in... they probably have plenty they want to get rid of. Then go and get some wood planks to cover the exterior and make it look pretty.
  5. No smell or smoke means that its not burning off, its just leaking out. The filter or plug was not installed correctly. I would call the shop and have them tow the car on their nickel.
  6. I think a big reason, is the additional cost of insurance. Have you gotten a flood insurance quote for a home in the 100 year floodplain? Its not exactly cheap.
  7. Nance St near the Last Concert Cafe. Great area for pics.
  8. Look for the make and model number of the garage door opener. Post here. I just bought a remote... if its a newer style opener with the programming button button on the back, then its super easy. BTW, garage remotes are supposed to come with the house... they are not supposed to be removed when a house is sold. You may want to contact your agent, or the seller's agent and request remotes. They are only $20 each or so, but its the principle of the matter.
  9. I'd save up... Break the 200k barrier and you can find a lot of newer townhome type stuff in midtown, or even some flipped homes in oak forest.
  10. God bless adblock... ignorance is bliss...
  11. Ahhh... that changes things... Yes, not getting attached is the hard part.... we fostered a yellow lab saturday night, and my wife fell in love.
  12. He apparently knows his way around... as much as I would hate to see him get hit by a car... this dog is independent... let him roam. He knows how to get home.
  13. I dont think the idea was that they would relocate in the US... the article I read mentioned that they sell just 20,000 units less in China than they do in the US... only 26% of their revenue comes from the US market... the idea of relocation would be for them to move to an emerging or growing market... probably China.
  14. Was the original survey (the one in error) the one used when you bought the property? If so, you essentially signed off on any errors.
  15. Generally, if you buy from a builder in Houston, you will find it difficult to save the 2-3% commission. They do not want to lower their sales price because it would lower their comps, which would make it difficult to sell another place at a higher price. Since you are not an agent, they cannot legally give you the commission. Google 2percent2buyer
  16. I thought 1/2 stories were reserved for attic spaces that have been turned into rooms... you know, with the pitch of the roof eating into the living space. If the bedroom and bath have full height ceilings, I think its considered a full story.
  17. Laura Tran Owner/Floral Consultant SCF Events www.scfevents.com She did a geat job at our wedding.
  18. They may want to go back and check some of the original intersections.... last time I checked, most of them were no longer functional.
  19. Just for kicks, I've highlighted where the track goes.
  20. Awesome... WVU representin'... I attending WVU and rode the PRT for many years between classes... if you have any questions about how it worked, let me know. Essentially, there are five stations. Beechnut - serves the primary downtown campus Walnut - serves the downtown Morgantown area (aka Bars) Evansdale - serves the Engineering buildings Towers - Serves the Towers dorms and new recreation center Medical Center - Serves the football stadium and hospitals. Google actually shows the locations of the PRT stations. I have highlighted them with the station names below. The entire system is automated with no physical driver of each PRT car, or live attendant at the stations. Users walk to the station, select which of the other 4 stations they want to go, and proceed to a covered waiting area. There are multiple gates (usually 4) at each station to serve high demand times like between classed and during special events (football games). They key is that the cars go directly to the next station. They do not make a scheduled loop. So if demand is high between two stations, the entire system can adjust and bring cars to that area. Each car holds between 10-15 people. 8 seated, 7 standing. The car rides on rubber tires, so the ride is very smooth. The track is heated so that snow and ice do not affect performance during severe weather. (Interestingly, the high cost of heating the track is ultimately why this prototype system was not expanded to other cities... although I do not believe Houston would need a temperature controlled track...) The system is amazing and I could not imagine getting around WVU without it. Traffic in Morgantown is a nightmare (as it is in many college towns) and buses were useless as they would get stuck in the same traffic. The PRT would get you between classes in less than 15 minutes.
  21. I installed Windows 7 using Virtualbox. I gave it a 7GB partition and 512MB of system RAM and it ran fine... a bit slow, but fine.
