  1. I'm going by facts that houston has, but you 713 to 214 you looking at dallas has more population, where? In metro? Not for long, cause houston is moving quickly and rapidly in other areas. All dallas have is a name DALLAS, that's it. I've been to dallas dude, and dallas don't have crap compare to houston. Houston is more a city feel. What do dallas have that houston don't have? Please tell me. And I don't get it at all, cause for one San Antonio out did y'all. They have more population dallas, and y'all trying to compare dallas and houston together? y'all need to try to regain 8th largest city back from San Antonio first before dealing with #1 houston. It's like a contender in boxing drop his rank, and trying to jump rank to fight a champion. The same thing the champion tells his contenders is the same thing I'm going to tell dallas and other cities in texas, "To be a champion, you have to climb the ladder just like I did. Wait for your turn." All this crap about dallas and houston I'm tired of, cause when the smoke clears houston is still #1. I don't care how you look at it houston always be #1 in texas, #1 in the south, and #4 in the nation. So 713 to 214 and houcajun, I really don't care what y'all say about me, cause I'm the better man of not saying nothing negative about y'all.
  2. That means houston has more population then dallas, and yes houston needs more highways. That's why they granted houston 4.1 billion dollars in transportation. 177,000 people move into houston last year, and the numbers continue to grow they mention. Also, the team cowboys nor texas rangers is not in the city of dallas. Look at the new stadium they building, its not in dallas, its on the outskirts of dallas. In Houston, everything is in the city limits. The only thing is in dallas is the nba basketball team. When dallas, or should I say Arlington, TX get's the superbowl, its not going to have a great impact like houston did, and of course houston is expected to host the superbpwl again in 2009 or 2010.
  3. I was trying to find them too 713 to 214. But I can get my girl from d.c. to tell me, or somebody in here put up an website. But I think Houston so far has 82 consulates.
  4. And why dallas drop down to 3rd? cause no one is moving into the city, everyone moves to subburbs, or to ft.worth. Houston is building like mad crazy downtown, and midtown, uptown, hell everywhere.
  5. This is getting boring now. Who cares about how many teams dallas has, WOW, you wanna cookie? All I know, houston will always be #1 in texas, while dallas got beaten by san antonio made y'all drop down to 3rd. Houston always been more of a city like, while dallas was more country feel. But me, I'm not worried about it. Dallas cowboys wanna get a new stadium, cause why? Houston got a brand new stadium that host the superbowl, now dallas wanna copy and share the glory. But like i said, I don't care, houston always will be #1 in texas.
  6. I can stop this right now. I have a girlfriend that works for the government in d.c. and I told her about the new consul that houston has gotten. She reply "Oh yes, Houston is an international city along with new york and them." Then she went on saying, "New york and l.a. is really not booming like they use to. Alot of people don't cater to those cities like back then. All I hear at work is Houston this, and houston that. I would love to move to houston." She also reply on d.c. international, "D.C. is international, but not on that high degree. D.C. is mainly high political. Everywhere from D.C. to Maryland is highly political." We always decussing different stuff that I really don't wanna discuss on this forum.
  7. Alot of fans think the same. They do expect texans to make it to the playoffs this year. They have a good enough team to make it, but poor coaching staff. Read the article dude, before talking.
  8. I disagree with 713-214. Houston has over 90 languages here. We don't only have blacks, mexicans, whites, or asians. We have the same types of cultures that new york has, but the only thing that new york has more is population, and of course they going to have more culture then any other city. But the same culture that new york and l.a. has, houston has also. Yes, houston is third behind new york and l.a.
  9. y'all think I'm a moron. Read this, and think I', a moron. I was right all along... 10. Yes, great news for houston. Wow, houston arrived with two consul's under a week.
  11. Excuse me, but I'm tired of people saying the Texans are a rookie team. They are not a rookie team. They just like the rest of the 31 teams in the NFL, so that is no excuse. They have good players on that team losing all their games like this. I don't blame it on the players, I blame it on the coaches. The Texans have a good enough team this year to go to the playoffs, no excuse. They just have to think about next season, and get rid of some players, as well as coaches.
  12. Disgrace? This team call the texans are a disgrace, pass that. They can't win crap. Dallas cowboys aint doing crap either, but they do have a name, we don't.
  13. Houston lost against greenbay packers, cause they're stupid and dumb. and they going to lose every game this year, just because they stupid and dumb. they need to fire some of those dumbass coaches they have on that staff.
  14. Listen, dallas metro is bigger then houston metro because of population, not of land size. Houston metro land size is bigger, and have room to produce more. So, yes houston will surpass dallas metro in population.
  15. Uptown houston blows away uptown dallas. Have y'all read about uptwon houston, the 14th largest the size of Altanta, L.A. and denver downtowns.
  16. Alike of people goest o conroe that you don't know of, y'all just don't. Conroe is setting in a gold mine, and they building up that area slowly. Conroe could become the next kemah.
  17. Downtown developers preserving history 07:51 PM CST on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 By Mike Zientek / 11 News Click to watch video Houston has for years been known as a city that throws away its history, tearing down old buildings to put up new ones. Not long ago that trend began to be reversed, and a trickle of preservation awareness has now turned into a flood. More and more, downtown Houston's future is being defined by its past. "Well Main Street was the hub of Houston, and they were right in the heart of activity downtown," says Bob Fretz. Fretz is remodeling the building at 420 Main. Houstonians knew it as Byrd's Department Store 70 years ago. Here in the 21st century, the place where people shopped will be the place where people now sleep. Fretz is turning the venerable building into lofts. "There are a total of five in this building, each of them custom designed, custom built," he says. The spaces are wide, the layout is modern, but the windows are pieces of history. "It's a steel casement window. They were set back in 1934 and operate as well today as the day they were put in," says Fretz. The exterior retains most of the original limestone, as demolition was not an option. "Maybe we could have torn something down and built something cheaper, but what would we have lost?" he says. "This type of project is ideal in the eyes of downtown Houston planners. that's because it's a blending of the new with the old." But Fretz's building by no means stands alone. More and more downtown developers are preserving the past. "You're giving a sense of history of a city. You're seeing it from its earliest days to its most contemporary days," redevelopment authority Minnette Boesel. Fretz had extra incentive to keep history alive. The original blueprints come from his grandfather's company. Now he's proving the old adage that everything old is new again.
  18. What makes Wal Mart so grest is that they carters to low income people also. People want layaways, and target do not have layaways, but they use to years ago. People is trying to get away from always using credit cards, they rather use cash, or put their purchase in a layaway. Every year during the holidays wal mart always be the #1 place to shop. Like I said before, it's going to be a hard time to compete with wal mart prices, and just the store itself it's hard to compete. y'all could talk about wal mart, and disgrade wal mart, but wal mart always be that #1 store that everyone appeal to.
  19. Hi there Cdallen. I'm glad you apart of the board. Here is some information about uptown. Uptown Houston is 23.6 million square feet (2,193,000 m
