Yes. Houston do have a chance, but the NFL is not going to have back 2 back super bowls in texas. Houston in 2009 and Dallas in 2011. The NFL is going to give Atlanta another shoot at it by awarding them the 2009 super bowl so they can make changes to the Dome. Beleive me. I want Houston to get it as much as y'all do. But the only thing going to hurt Houston for not getting the super bowl back here is Dallas. Tell you the truth, it's nothing really hurting Atlanta, but that ice storm in 2000 super bowl, hell that's been 5 years ago.

March 27, 2005, 10:12PM BUS STOP Medical Center transit center to get escalators Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle Bus riders transferring to trains at the Texas Medical Center Transit Center will no longer have to walk up and down stairs to make the connection. ADVERTISEMENT The Metropolitan Transit Authority Board of Directors approved a contract Thursday with Satterfield & Pontikes Construction to install escalators at the transit center's skybridge, which connects bus loading areas with the rail station in the center of Fannin. Metro had planned to modify the skybridge in future years but said heavy ridership through the medical center justifies moving the escalator installation to this year. The $2.6 million project, 80 percent of which will be reimbursed by the federal government, is scheduled for completion in October. This contract also includes modifying the rail station to accommodate three-car trains. The Main Street line was built to handle only two-car trains because the short block lengths downtown will not accommodate anything longer. Bryan Pennington, Metro's vice president of planning, engineering and construction, said it makes sense to modify the rail platforms now rather than having to do another retrofit should three-car shuttle trains ever be considered. Metro bus passes available through online RideStore No more need to stand in line at the grocery store to buy your Metro bus pass. The transit authority has opened an online RideStore at www.ridemetro.org. Riders may purchase monthly and yearly passes plus Stored Value Cards. Payment is by Visa, MasterCard or Discover, and passes are mailed out within one business day. There is a $1 surcharge to cover shipping costs and processing. Monthly and yearly passes are valid on light rail trains, but customers who only ride the train should not buy them online because they must first be validated on a bus. You know what people. I may sound like a turncoat to some people, but I think Atlanta might get this one. All because of the impovements of the Georgia Dome, and the money the owner is putting up. The NFL don't want the Georgia Dome to go to waste, and Atlanta also host the Super Bowl back in 2000. Furthermore, what might hurt Houston is Dallas building a new stadium that might host the Super Bowl in 2011. Think about it. Super Bowls back to back in Texas, Houston 2009 and Dallas 2011, ummmm I kinda doubt it. I hate to say it, but Atlanta might pull this one off.

Memorial City Mall Developments
houstonsemipro replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Going Up!
Man, this is great news. I just finished reading it on Houston Chronicle. This is really great news, and I'm loving it. I've been to Memorial City Mall once two months ago, and it was great. They still had some areas still under construction, but my stay there was great. I like the huge brick fireplace in the middle, with a lounge area, and the NHL size hockey rink. I really do like the area the mall is at. It reminds me of the galleria area.- 418 replies

The DeGeorge Hotel At Union Station At 1418 Preston St.
houstonsemipro replied to The Great Hizzy!'s topic in Downtown
Wow, that's great they doing something for the homeless vets. Degeorge is a good man thinking about the homeless vets, and it looks like its going to be a pretty nice building for them. Not only that, but residental programs to help the veterans to adapt to independent living. And why y'all so hard on homeless? Every major city have problems with this situtation. You think we bad, you haven't seen New York, L.A., Chicago, etc. I can go on and on. So chill, Houston's homeless is not near is bad as those cities. y'all talk like we're the captial of homeless. Get real.- 13 replies
