my mom took my brother and i there. after looking at that youtube video, i didn't realize how "80's" it was . lol
-
I can't believe this is happening. Or maybe I can.
M.D. Anderson should be ashamed - first bad stewards of the building, now Hurd's mural.
i agree.

DJ for KLOL (when they played rock) called it the 'big bush' as opposed to the smaller hobby.

Ferrari dealers generally don't have to go looking for customers - they know customers will come to them. Ferrari manufactures a very small number of cars compared to larger car companies, so there are frequently more prospective customers than there are cars allotted to a dealer. For a new model that's very much in demand, it's common for Ferrari dealers to give preference to customers that they already have an established relationship with and who have purchased several cars from them in the past.
That said, there's not really a compelling reason for them to move, especially when the property taxes are probably a lot lower in their current location than they would be in the more upscale parts of town.
i dunno, if i were plunking down 150 grand for a car, i wouldn't want to look over and see some homeless guy peeing against the front window as i was signing the paperwork.

where would this 80 story building go?
-
that i don't understand...why that ferrari dealer remains in that area. you'd think they move closer to where their prospective costumers work/ live.

at least, wachovia uses a modern appealing design for their new branch buildings.

the units start at about $180K and for that kind of money, it leaves much to be desired.
-
maybe they will attach tasers and zap anyone who acts disorderly.
-
that is a great townhouse!
-
the parking garage is ugly but from the street, it's really not that prominent as it is in that photo.
-
$8 million is insane...unless you like to face freeways and the parking garages next door.

I liked the ones from the late 1980s, before they started getting bulbous:
yeah, the ones with the pop up light were nice. i had an '86.
also had an '84:
and an '81:
great cars.

my favorite accord was the late 90's version:
-
i'd like to see that ratty corner store knocked down as well.

i agree, very stupid to build a lavish sales center to only for it to last a couple years. far more posh highrises were fine with movable structures with some sort of landscaping.

i don't think race is (or was) an issue downtown but rather the type of people who hung out down there. the time i went (a few years ago) it was very "thuggish" and that's going to be a turn-off to just about everyone; white, black, asian or hispanic.

Which one are you talking about? Magic Johnson? Or the Edwards Marq*E?
magic johnson
Seems like most megaplexes are really nice when they're first built, then over time the theater chains don't bother to maintain the facilities or the projection & sound equipment properly, which eventually leads to the situation you describe. Of course, it doesn't help that most patrons seem to be completely incapable of carrying their trash out and depositing it in the trash bins at the exits. Based on informal surveys I've read in the past, I think most people just throw garbage on the floor because they know that there are people whose job it is to clean up after every show. I would no more leave trash in a theater than I would toss it out of my car onto the highway, but I hardly ever buy anything at the concession stand at a movie anyway.AMC 30 on dunvale and the various cinemark/ tinstletown theaters that are as old or older are kept up. people will always dump their trash on the floor but most theaters have people that come and sweep it up at the end of each movie. the MJ theater obviously had no one doing this.

it was a hole. went there to see a movie a few weeks ago; the building reeked of mold, the place was littered with trash and the sound system crapped out halfway through the movie.

yeah, painting the back could make it look less like a 400' stained urinal.
on the sides, paint in "windows" to fill in blank spaces and then a pattern on the back to mimic design on front.

it's the jpmorgan chase tower now.

thank you!
the GRB is an assault on the eyes. there is bad architecture and then there's that damn thing.
