  1. To be fair, Is the population in the Greenspoint area well off enough to afford HSR tickets to Dallas? I doubt their going to be that cheap. Not sure how it would be helpful to them, other than providing additional victims to roaming thugs.

    what is your point?

not saying a greenspoint makes sense, but do you honestly believe other people outside of that stop might go use it?

I don't live near IAH, but I fly out of the occasionally.

  2. I can't quite get behind an argument that runs "The US is physically large. Let's settle for second-rate infrastructure."

I would qualify this by adding that it is of course impossible to generalize as to the quality of infrastructure. But that said, there are areas in which the US could do better, and should do better, size notwithstanding.

not saying is an excuse, it's a reality.

The roads, electricity, and sewage trashes time and money to install and upgrade, it takes money and time.

As far as cell and broadband goes, they are maintained by private entities who have to keep costs reasonable to have a profit.

When electric and phone services became available, they simply didn't blanket the entire country overnight. It took decades.

Yes, cell service is National, but do guy realize how many dead zones there are between cities?

How much water is subsidized in parts of the country because it is just too expensive?

Yes, it socks to be behind in certain technologies and services, but a company can't be put in the red so everyone can access YouTube or the can text their girlfriend selfies.

  3. Not sure but Global First Class and BusinessFirst are almost equal.  In Global First the seats are farter apart.

    Heh heh

I hate to admit, I googled giggled too.

  4. It's almost time to make another string of videos.

For the Extention of the north line, I'm debating whether to shoot it just before it opens (schedule permitting) then shoot again in six months, OR to just film it after it starts operating and then go on an annual schedule.

But the real input that I would like is to which equipment to use.

This one was shot with the Sony A55 camera:

This one was shot with a cheap Camcorder I got:

While the samsung allowed me to shoot uninterrupted with minimal edits, I wasn't entirely pleased with the look.  The autofocus issue was my fault because I forgot to disable it, so that shouldn't be taken into account.

Personally, I like the look of the A55, but due to some design issues, I'm unable to shoot more than 10minutes of video at a time.  This makes editing a bit of a pain, but it isn't a dealbreaker for me.

Basically, what I'm asking is:  Which looks better to you?

  5. I think metro was doing it in a more financially responsible way than Dallas.

Two of the lines were built paid for by metro, with the red line extension with government help.

The expansion would have been fairly piecemeal That would have fairly significant ridership numbers.

Dallas method was to build out to the burbs with little thought of inner city transportation, so you have a higher cost per mile per passenger.

The u line would have been a substantial relief in the traffic in the area today is quickly turning into gridlock with all the development that is occurring there.
