I recently heard some grumbling from the organizers of the FPSF. apparently there are some within the committee that want to move it to someplace out of the city. parking and traffic seem to be the biggest complaints.
-
Actually, the jitney fulls this market.
supposedly, they have to stick to a particular route but can deviate to drop people off close to the route.
-
nope. I think they left it vague on purpose, particularly if there might be legal action to recoup damages.
-
It was states in the chron.com article. The way it was phrased, it seems that an unrelated construction projects screwed up.
I just wonder how significant the damage is.
-
I guess the garage wasn't salvageable. They are knocking it down.
-
If metro is smart, they'd shift over to Washington and connect the uptown line that way.

A garden immediately next to an active construction site sounds like a pretty poor place to enjoy a beer. Frank must be taking the long view on this one.
indeed, it could be a haifer hangout. I think it might be a great place after the construction is done.

I mean, You guys know that minute maid park is like... a few blocks away and it has... Stadium lighting.
yeah, pointed towards the INTERIOR of a stadium.
apparently, I'm screaming into the wind.

Those living nearby already have lights from the towers DT.
oh, yeah.
The big bright ones that illuminates the surrounding areas so bright you can see every blade of grass.
of course.

Yeah because it's suuuuuch a HUUUUUUUUUGGGGEEEEE hazard for the people driving down I-10...
The top golf on I 10 is NOT built above and NEXT to the freeway. it's a fairly good distance and the lights are far enough to not affect anyone driving.
-
And I have absolutely no connection with TopGolf or any high up officials to get something like this done. Point being? I dreamed up the idea. Sue me.
I think it would be an idiotic idea.
The glare from the lights would be a driving hazard for those on the freeway, and an annoyance to those living nearby.

Are you sure your proposal isn't being followed?
doubtful. There would have been a couple of sizable holes by now.

i proposed several years ago that we randomly hit it with a sledgehammer very once in awhile until it gets declared a hazard.

Actually, they need to redo those gates and turn them into removable steel posts or something. occasionally some Moron will swing the arms open. there's been more than one occasion where I nearly smacked those gates when someone tampered with them.

Haha it's a little shaky but the effort is much appreciated ricco!
Well the actual video is no where near as shakey and it's driving me a bit crazy. Last time I used the camera, I used it to try some time lapse which required me to turn off the steadycam option. I prepared for a LITTLE shakiness, but wow!

Okay. The East line finally rendered. turned out a bit better than the Southeast vid, but I think I might have to try to re-render it or possibly shoot it again. <sigh>

wow. This video sucks.
That's what I get for turning off the steadycam option.

Here is the latest. It should be live in about
30 minutesor so, okay...maybe an hour...... Currently working on the East Line video. -
you were there when. I passed by during my metro video run.
I was hoping they would be finished when I drove by. It made me sad.

That might have been possible, but considering the circumstances in which it burned, which happened on a very windy day, along with no doors and windows wide open, it was just v a matter of bad luck.

Isn't that a 5 star hotel?
I believe it IS a hotel on the lower floors, but don't know about a five star. The upper floors are definitely office, but I can't remember if they were also going to be residences.

I'm no expert on residential real estate, but shouldn't high quality interior amenities generally correlate with a high quality exterior? Are there any residential towers where the developer splurged on a sumptuous exterior and then put cheap apartments on the inside? Sort of like a house or a car... if you're paying for the inside to be fancy, you probably want the outside to look good too, and vice versa.
The trump tower fits that bill. they spent a couple of million on a metallic accent.
In case you're wondering, it was the building featured in the TV show "the crazy ones. "

I've noticed that the greyhound busses have moved to the old star furniture parking lot on I45.

I don't think it's insurmountable, it's the routing that would trade speed and ridership that would be the challenge.
The way Culberson wrote the anti rail bill, it might be prudent if metro looked at other routes to get funding.

The bad part of having it near market square is the fact the parade will have to cross the light rail line at some point and would limit the height of the floats.
