  1. Rich, your plan is not going to work. KHS will never leave that property, it needs to be upgraded on the land it is sitting on. And if you did follow your plan you still end up with 5 high schools and the future need for a 6th, but no land to put it on. Despite many of the Districts shortcomings Klein has planned ahead much better than you think. And yes I still think the actions of your group specifically the people from Gleannloch are arrogant, and express an elitist attitude. I live in Gleannloch and I, and many of my neighbors are embarrassed by your groups approach. I have no interest in visiting your website or supporting your group in any way. Like I said before I am not happy with this bond, but your group is making my rethink on how to vote.
  2. Let's see, spreading non factual information. Circulating inappropriate emails to the District, Board members, and residents. Setting up a website and implying that it fact when it is more opinion, putting ads in the paper with the web address encouraging people to vote no, sending the Superintendent an email about tat ad threatening him there is more to come if he does not put together a bond that this group wants. These people have no idea what they are looking at as far as the issues at KHS, or a bond for that matter. Are they engineers, architects, or construction managers? How about contacting a lawyer to talk about sueing the District!!!! Over what, not getting their way? Get a clue people!!! This is "coalition" was started by a small group in Gleannloch that has an elitist attitude and could care less about anybody that lives outside their neighborhood until they want something from you, like your vote. They don't really care about the tax increase, or overcrowding, all they care about is that they want their new High School when it is done and don't want it after it is used by the KHS crowd. Oh and let's not forget that they want the right neighborhoods at that school, but I guess we will wait until the zoning issue comes up to see that. These are small minded people that want is best for them, and them alone, not the District as a whole. The Noveau Riche in Gleannloch are destroying any credibility for the neighborhood for any issues that may arise in the future. I have issue with the bond as well and don't agree withthe KHS numbers, but this group is so cluless they are making me want to vote yes, and I am not alone inthat thinking. They have no idea how school politics work, construction, bonds, or really anything that is associated with education.
  3. The GP will pass right on the North border of Gleannloch and Champions Forest Drive will have an entrance. IT basically will then travel along Boudreax, that is if it ever gets built. Northpoint is laid out to go through to 249, but I think my 2 yr old will be a High School Grad before it happens.
  4. I understand voting no on the Bond it has some things in it that I take issue with as well. But I would not associate with the Klein for all group. They are a petty self appointed know it all group out of Gleannloch that is upset about the KHS rebuild. I disagree with the KHS rebuild too but the tactics this group is pulling is unprofessional and pathetic. Anyone who is in their email circle might as well forget any credibility with the KISD Admin or the KISD Board from now on. It is a shame since those of us who still disagree with the bond, but still live in the same neighborhood as them will have to live with the damage they are causing for the rest of the Gleannloch residents. If you want accurate information abouthte Bond not one small groups opinion just go tothe KISD website.
  5. The solution is to not buy a house next to a train track. Especially one that was there before you were. Man I should be a consultant.
  6. No real updates on this project that is in its infancy of design development. All I know is that the land is already owned by the group, and the group is out of Dubai.
  7. Just a quick update. This project has been slated to break ground in January 2009. Clearing of he APT's that are there would likely start in October 2008.
  8. Topped out with the concrte structure yes, the structural steel infill is ongoing and the curtainwall (glass) will be going on unitl April. That is when the building is expected to be dried in. The parking garage that is behind it is a little delayed but will be ok. And the landscaping for this building is crazy. Ther eis a 20 story building that is going to go next door, but when that happens is anyones guess.
  9. Nothing is final until Contracts are signed. That has not happened yet. Like I implicated in another thread, there is so much that has to go into a project of this caliber that most here have no idea.
  10. Chris where did you get this info, it is not the same as wht I have seen. Is this something official from KISD?
  11. Wow, slamming me for bringing something to the table. Project like these are very sensetive and the financial backers do not want word getting out unless they put it out. Contractors who might have an inside track due to a relationship with an owner do not want these coming out because it creates more competition for them, the same goes with design firms. Some of you are obviously not in the business of building designing or development, if you are you are not a major player in town. Some of you have no idea how projects can be put off of years, or never built due to some of the stupidest reasons. I would hate for a project like this to get put off due to some investor getting ticked off because his ego didn't get to announce this first. Things like that happen believe it or not. It jsut so happens that I happen to be privy to some of the high end projects in town and it is hard to sit on information, I admit it I am sometimes a gossip queen. I happen to know of about 4 other projects in town that would be great topics but if I am going to get called out for trying to give you fellas a nugget to chew on then noway. Someone did this to me on the W project and I said I wouldn't divulge anymore, I guess I didn't learn my lesson. You want to know about this project here it is: Two towers in the galleria area by Williams tower, one office building 80 floors, one residential 50 floors. Right now only in the planning stages, it may never get built, but if it does it will take off within the next 18 months.
  12. It is not the Ritz carlton. And whether you believe me or not I don't care, but when this gets to be more official and given the green light remember who told you first.
  13. More like a year to 18 months from now, groundbreaking that is, of course if this actually becomes real.
  14. I would just hate to see areas that really need the help and the growth issues addressed rejected becuase this bond issue gets shot down over the new KHS plan. I doubt Klein will do this.
  15. I prefer to remain as anonymous as possible but if you send me a PM I will try explain as much as I can. Just a small briefing on this project, if this materializes it will be dramatic. I have not seen the renderings but they do exist, and the explaination of them is really quite stunning. Think tall, very tall.
  16. I believe that a large group on that committe think this is a good idea, however that large group is primarily made up of KHS parents. I don't think this will be well recieved outside the KHS zone. Maybe they should pull that section out of the bond package since it is the most controversial and have the KHS issues voted on independently. Just a thought.
  17. Guys, like I said I shouldn't of said anything so early. This could end up being a project that never happens. So give me a little time and I will dish out info regardless if this moves ahead or not.
  18. This project is too new to give any specific details. I was just wondering if anyone here has heard anything about it. I probably should have kept this under wraps but it is sounding like a pretty high profile job. Even bigger that the W project imo.
  19. I agree, however they should not practice this at the expense of others. The KHS plan is nothing more than pandering to the wealthier KHS families. If I lived in the South end of the District I would be FURIOUS since they were wanting a new HS to relieve pressure off of KF, instead the district expanded KF, and it is still overcrowded.
  20. Well Gleannloch Farms goes to KO, Memorial Springs which is west of GF on Spring Cypress goes to KO. Basically any neighborhood North of Spring Cypress, and East of 249 that is in the Klein School District goes to KO. Some travel as many as 14 miles to get there. And my understanding is that Greenwood Forest is slated to be rezoned to Klein in the future, however that is merely just a plan, and not fact. It makes no sense to zone a neighborhood that has KFHS in it to another school. but KISD Admin has yet to show any intelligence in the zoning dept so anything is possible.
  21. The way I understand it is that HS#5 will be built and once open it wil be named Klein High School and all students at the current KHS will go there while the current KHS is torn down and rebuilt brand new. All the while the students who would eventually go to the new HS#5 will still be at KO, (and there are some kids who are currently at Klein that will proabbaly go to the new school so they will start there from the get go) and will not be able to attend the new school until after the new KHS is completed.
  22. When #5 opens it will be named Klein High School for two years. So naming it is a mute point for at least 5-6 years.
  23. I don't think this is any stage except that a conceptual design has been established and possibly some meetings. I know the land has been purchased, but whether or not something is built on it is a question mark. From what I understand it could be a couple of towers, one that might rival Williams tower, again this right now is pure speculation.
  24. That perception was alive when I was a student and is still alive now that I am a tax paying resident.
