Yes. Maybe it’ll do better, but I have my doubts. We need more residential density in this part of midtown and on the southern part of downtown.

Industrial Distribution - 1411 Hutchins St.

https://shopcompanies.com/sites/default/files/1411 Hutchins_0.pdf?v=1682025999 If they could get a little more parking, this would be a prime spot for a grocery store, IMO. -
I am sure they were, but apartment dwellers most likely want to have covered parking. Also, the garage may serve as overflow for the patrons of the places next door. Were you suggesting that they shouldn’t have built a garage?

The 24 hour fitness was crap. Should replace w/ a nicer gym tbh. The CVS was in no man’s land. Whole Foods is too expensive for the neighborhood. Should be a Trader Joe’s or small Target.

Retail, Office Development - 3100 McKinney St.
Sanjorade replied to ljchou's topic in EaDo, the East End, and East Houston
Sounds like this was a possible tenant according to the video. This building is going to take some good money to get in working order. An established tenant will make more sense ... but let's see what happens. -
No problem. Hoping this is accurate information.

Got confirmation from the previous owner that this will be a coffee shop. Guessing Slowpokes.

IMO a grocery store in EastRiver would be too secluded from the rest of the East End and EaDo. It needs to be in proper EaDo to make sense. EastRiver is more of a destination, not necessarily part of everyday life ... at least not anytime in the near future. There are multiple vacant lots on Leeland that are perfect for setting up a prime location grocery store. I think one of the lots is owned by the Catholic Church. Anyone know the Pope? Maybe he has some pull w/ HEB.

Perhaps the plans changed for the complex and these homes went up for sale. Will be good to have more bars/restaurants there. Ideally, the apartments get built as well just with a slightly altered layout.

The Block At Midtown: Retail Center - 2020 Travis St.
Sanjorade replied to Brooklyn173's topic in Midtown
Looks like the design group focuses on a lot of retail and restaurants. Guessing this will be some kind of dining experience. Hoping for something fast casual. With so much parking, it would do well.- 51 replies
