  1. They sent out a construction update with a boatload of photos: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/track?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:831f26ef-34f1-4382-9519-171afadc27d4 Says that it is now leasing and still scheduled for a December completion.
  2. CoH has some COVID relief funds that they have to spend by the end of the year. I wonder if they can use some to provide for this social-distancing approved method of transportation? This is what I got from them 6 days ago when I asked: So pretty much in line with what you heard. Sigh
  3. Promised my wife a shopping trip to the new Target when she gets home from work today. I'll take some pics and report back.
  4. HAR listing for renting one of the PH units: https://www.har.com/homedetail/3411-yoakum-blvd-ph3501-houston-tx-77006/15128795 $11,207/month This next one might be common area?
  5. From page 113. Ummm... wat?!? Since when does the city have a quarter billion to do this when the federal government would pay? It's listed in the alternative 6 which is being listed as the "most cost effective structural plan" so it does sound like it's going to happen. I may be reading this wrong, but the Alternative 8 Combo Plan which builds a cypress creek dam & reservoir and does the 49 miles of Buffalo Bayou improvements for $5 to $7 billion is the best bang for the buck?
  6. They haven't said. Wheeler was actually going to be cut off from NHHIP but community rallied to have it kept and revised. With Alabama's larger ROW it'll have to be there I'm thinking.
  7. It would really be incredible. However, I remember reading about how someone, maybe downtown district(?) made them promise to keep the lanes accessible to cars. It's been awhile, and clearly downtown tirz is acting progressively (bagby st rebuild) so who knows! I wish Metro would be more forthcoming with their potential plans.
  8. It can't be too much longer! Inner Katy BRT/elevated HOV funding from HGAC is set for 2021 fiscal year. Even if two-way HOV on 45 won't be done for a decade due to NHHIP, the cost to implement BRT to IAH is relatively low. Just skip the planned red line extension station until that's finished and build the BRT stations at Greenspoint and IAH. Not much community involvement needed on where to plan these specific items. Also, maybe they'll finally close Main St to cars and they can make a cool BRT station.
  9. Have you seen the home prices in the 3rd between TSU and the highway? Renovated homes are already $300+. I wonder how long it'll take to get a building over 5 stories in the 3rd! I would imagine BRT is planned for Alabama, so maybe corner of Alabama @ Emancipation? I'm very much not an expert at the situation, but the buy and hold strategy is coming from above (and it's dumb). Can't believe they haven't instituted a community land trust and/or done some multi-family.
  10. I tried to tell y'all! Looking very cool! I like using the full site.
  11. Wheeler is a no-brainer for University, but Central Station is so annoying for Inner Katy/IAH. I really think that they should integrate 2 stations. Preston and Convention would be a nice combo imho and would allow easy connections while also offering super easy Discovery Green/Convention center access for IAH BRT.
  12. Holy bananas how did I miss all of the updates to this thread over the last 3 months. I always thought that the small room sizes in this property may be a challenge, but it would be fantastic to add some pricing variation to downtown (and even Midtown). Based on room size, a hotel makes the most sense, but this area needs residents and not temporary guests imho. People that can take advantage of the YMCA next door and if the NHHIP and the city develops the land the Pierce Elevated land into parks or whatever, that there are more residents that are nearby. You have to think that the new BRT lines connect with the downtown transit center, so this might be one of the best transit-connected blocks in the city. Could be direct BRT to the Galleria/HSR/IAH, direct LRT to NRG/Med Center/UHD and LRT->BRT/LRT connection to TSU, UH, the other sports stadiums, etc.
  13. 2 days! Do you know if this is still the case? Edit: just did some googling and found a HBJ article from earlier this month that says opening date is Oct. 25
  14. UA directly paid for about 3/4 of the new terminal C North https://www.chron.com/business/article/United-IAH-show-off-new-Terminal-C-North-10922067.php#:~:text=United and the Houston Airport, also known as Terminal D. And most of Term B https://airportimprovement.com/article/houston-intercontinental-united-wrap-first-phase-1-billion-terminal-project
  15. Single month. I think a lot of them are going month by month about 45-60 days in advance.
  16. Speaking or A.Net, the newest OAG changes are out. Also, it appears VivaAerobus has dropped IAH (along with all of their other US destinations). Air Canada is dropping Montreal and Calgary in November (but returning in December) and Toronto is dropping to once daily. Air France may be coming back in November. Singapore cancelling IAH-MAN flights in December.
  17. Yup, it's there in March! HOU-DTW 1835-2300 and DTW-HOU 0730-1000. Reallllllllly annoying times, but it is what it is. That's pretty close to what Spirit had been flying from IAH for awhile. In-laws live in Saginaw, so the 90+ minute drive is brutal with this combo.
  18. That's kind of interesting since it's usually the airlines that pay for expansions. Maybe one of the legacies like AA or DL want their own little nicer area?
  19. Link to the announcement? Interested in Detroit specifically and don't see it on the calendar for the next few months. Yeah, Southwest is going to need 3 gates tops. Probably 2 is fine. My preference is that UA dumps A entirely. With no check-in and no baggage facilities at A, customers have to take the train to/from B which is kind of ridiculous.
  20. Streetscape looking good (from the bike lane on Austin)
  21. I don't see how to get access to the permit online unfortunately. I think that it can be viewed in person for free, but ain't nobody got time for that. Supposedly adopting a new standard is coming. Not sure which year.
  22. A bunch of retail buildout permits issued this last week including a 4,000 sq ft restaurant. Any idea of any of these are Sweetgreen? Have a friend in the Heights who is going crazy waiting for it to open.
  23. Restaurant/bar Remodel listed in the Permit Report for this property this week: "4,841 SQ FT RESTAURANT/BAR REMODEL 1-2-2-A2-B '12 IBC 100% SPK"
  24. This property was in the Permit Report. Permit issued on 10/06 for "(EPR) CONVERT WAREHSE TO SHELL & CORE 1-4-2-SH-B '12 IBC 100% SPK" Not an expert, so not sure what it means.
