The Menil Collection At 1533 Sul Ross St.
curbur replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Going Up!
Hmm.. I have friends that live in Richmont Square Apartments near Loretto Dr. @ Richmond. I wonder how they feel about this designation considering their parking lot is often full by the time they get home.- 420 replies

Considering all the blight and office warehouses that this will sit around, I wouldn't expect anything too fancy, but it will still be a nice facelift for this part of Stafford off the freeway.

Kings Creek: Mixed-Use Development In Kingwood
curbur replied to TowerSpotter's topic in Points Northeast
I have a feeling not all of that will get built, and what does will be dramatically reduced either in terms of height or grandiosity. Sure it's great to present something that would look good in Dubai for the design phase of the project, but unless this has heavy private backing I don't see them not getting a lot more realistic about their location in the coming months. Either way, it's still really cool for that part of town.- 62 replies

The Moderne Rice Village: Condominiums At 2406 Tangley St.

I'm not a huge fan of the first rendering, but I feel this is one of those mockups that may actually look better in real life than digitally.- 126 replies

I think most people in first ward are already aware of what's going on around the inner city and aren't offering to sell for anything near what their current listing prices are.

Couldn't agree more and I'm really excited for it, however, I hope they don't forget to build a couple of large-scale parking garages to account for the lack of parking lots there will be in the future.

I'm assuming most people on here aren't 14; smoking a joint is about the same as having a beer or two once you're used to it.

Finally some traction with this project; this field has sat vacant a decade too long.

I wish they'd make it a different color than puke beige, but I agree that it's much better than yet another strip center with an Cheddar's or insert any other 2-star chain restaurant's name here.

Mann.. it feels like 249 is getting all the new developments for Cypress as opposed to 290. Then again, we have Carl's BBQ which I absolutely love, so I really have no room to complain. It still is cool for the area as a whole though.

I wonder how long people in the Richmont Square Apts. have left until they're forced to vacate. That was one of the last affordable/cheap apartments complexes in the area.- 420 replies

Katy Will Be Larger Than The City Of Pittsburgh In 2 Years
curbur replied to arndthwrld82's topic in Houston Real Estate
The point is well taken, but kind of obvious already, and isn't really an issue that's unique to Katy as most suburbs along the tract where grand parkway is or will be are experiencing the same problems The article made a claim which is a falsehood; the fact that you anticipated someone making a comment regarding such only shows that you were already aware of it. Why couldn't the article have stated that Katy ISD will have a population larger than Pittsburgh? -
Katy Will Be Larger Than The City Of Pittsburgh In 2 Years
curbur replied to arndthwrld82's topic in Houston Real Estate
From what I could tell, it appears they are referring to the boundaries of Katy ISD rather than Katy or Katy ETJ. The large majority of KISD falls under Houston ETJ, so I'm not sure I can agree. Katy is certainly ginormous for a suburb's standards regardless.
