Lol@title change, although there's a grammatical error that still persists.

Pathetic. They could have just used a cam phone, or even ganked a picture from Google Maps!
Makes my head hurt too much to say anything else...
-
Portofino, and it's one of the WORST IMHO. Faux Venice surrounded by 9000 acres of parking...DO NOT WANT.
-
Yes, and there isn't too much trash on the ground, either!

I'm not especially impressed by the architecture, but I dig having a Turkish-American center down the road from me. (Here in the suburbs!)
According to some, it's BFE, since it's WAYYY outside the loop!
-
And of course, this issue cannot be addressed without both sides making idiotic personal remarks about each other, rather than the topic at hand.

As I've said before; DuDu go BaiBai

Let's hope they don't chop 30 stories off of Mainplace or anything like that!

Say, how did the vacation adventure thingy go anyway?
-
And there was the gnashing of teeth, and the rending of garments...

Are you saying it is only third rate?
Nah, I wanna hear your reasons for calling it "second rate".
-
You probably hit the nail on the head there. It's got to be easier just to pick out projects by the starchitects, regardless of merit. It bothers me sometimes when big commissions go to big names that go on to produce second rate work (Cf Moneo's Beck Building at MFAH).
Hey now, what exactly qualifies the Beck building as "Second Rate"?
-
Wow, they literally left you up a creek without a paddle...I'm so sorry (excuse the lame and almost inappropriate pun here). But hey, at least you have those reserves to tide you over until you get a new position. Good luck with that man; sometimes it eventually works out for the better and all that.

Southeast of Missouri City. South of Hwy 6, west of Almeda/521. BFE. They have gators!
BFE indeed. That portion of Missouri City is quite far from everything; the closest grocery is the Kroger on Tx 6 and University/Murphy; some 3-4 miles away or so; at least that area up the road has a decent amount of retail (Target, Home Depot, etc). AFAIK, the proposed WalMart on Ftbend Pkway was never built. The main drag into the community itself is about 2-3 miles long as well, and does not have much on it yet.
Another option besides taking the long hike to 59 would be 288, but the stretch of 6 towards there is long, and depressing. Almeda is another option if you work in the TMC (My mother used to take it when we lived in the area), but it has horrendous traffic during rush hour, particularly in the mornings.
The community itself is quite nice; lots of trees, greenspace, etc, but it's just too far from anything at the moment. I used to live in the vicinity, and not much has changed since then (from what I've seen).

Well, it was probably considered "great" since the Starchitect Robert AM Stern designed it. In fact, it's not even original; a structure designed by him in California or something beforehand bears a striking resemblance to the Hobby. It seems that most Starchitects can get away with that these days (ie Gehry and his multiple clones of crumpled-tinfoil buildings).
Perhaps the editors at Phaidon enjoy stirring us architecture critics into debates over things like this; maybe they are just as sadistic and argumentative as we are here.
*Line Deleted, disregard*

i think it's the city's fault.
No, you're wrong! It's the BLIND citizens' fault, since they don't care!
-
So what's the prize, eh? I guess I could show off some stuff I did a while back for SimCity and the like. (Those who know about it...SHHHH) Are 3d models rendered for gaming use ok to show off?
EDIT: Wait, is this for existing scrapers, or for fantasies and the like? I have a few fantasy designs that may just fit the bill...

I heart the waffle slab system they're using there!
-
Wasn't built in the 21st century.
Yeah, 1984 or something. Maybe you're familiar with the joke somewhere else on the board?
-
Perhaps it was self immolation due to its exclusion from Phaidon's 21st century atlas, while it's neighbor down the street got a space?
Yes yes, I still can't stop laughing at that argument/fact.

AM YISRAEL CHAI!

Is the Hobby Center in it?
-
But but but...most people bicker and kvetch this much once married! So I guess all of us here have a good head start!

Nice lines on that building. Such a shame that it will be clad in the typical beige palette, but I hope they at lease chose materials similar to the Montebello and Villa d'este.
