Maybe it has something to do with all of those projects that went up, eh?
-
Must have something to do with all those bobcat sightings as of late.

is it just me or does the top floors on the right side not look level to one another? something looks off to me
Probably a garage level or something.

From 59, one can see the curved latticework starting to go up on top. Looks like the rendering will indeed be accurate!

Hey Wayne, there's a bunch of profanities you missed!
-
Doesn't matter though; it's still quite large, and voluminous.

Ahh, I can get these free at the UH woodshop. Heck, if you ever pass by, you could donate them to the UH Keeland center, since us broke-arse architecture students always need free model building material.

There's an Azuma in the ground floor of the Baylor bldg/garage off of Fannin/Main in the TMC, if I am not mistaken.

Ran into this rendering while poking around the Chron archives:
It just MAY have SOME retail or something at the base perhaps; either that, or this is just the rendering for the leasing office/complex gym/etc. The design is....typical of what's been going up around Midtown; not exceptional, but somewhat tolerable.
Link to story where render was found: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/busine...ff/5546743.html
Saaay, any word on the Post Midtown expansion? Wasn't that already underway, or has that been mothballed for a while?

High rise class? What year of the program were you in when you took that? Eee, I have a long way to go...lol

LOL Sadly, I'm in the thick of the uni sem now. I don't think I will be able to enter this one.

They could always cannibalize the under-utilized Cy Twombly gallery!
-
The signs are amusing. They say that the project is in its first trimester.
I hope they don't abort it then!

The Rosenberg location has been closed down as well.
Nothing of value was lost.

Jambalaya and Dirty Rice!

Lockmat, it ain't a "possibility". It IS going to happen. I will bet dollars to donuts that although the Lib. talking heads want Gitmo closed, they don't want those "poor detainees" released into their backyards. Let's see, how many HAIFers , in favor of closing Gitmo, are ready to house one of the these suspected terrorists?
I'd house em 6 feet under once I'm done interrogating em with some lead.
jk jk

Hatriotism at its finest.

The individual structures themselves are interesting, but it looks far too much like a Greenway or Westchase type of development to fully take advantage of the transit/access amenities.
Swamplot states something similar: http://swamplot.com/even-better-than-green...1-19/#more-5689
I certainly hope they will at least make some changes to this development, if it is to get off of the ground at all.

Looks like an 850-900 footer to me.

thats 3 syllables...and the correct pronuciation is with emphasis on the middle
Oops; temporary brain malfunction, my sincerest apologies

Way to find the cloud surrounding the silver lining. ;-(
They will be leaving behind 480,000 square feet in Allen Center and occupying approximately 870,000 square feet in the building formerly known as Discovery Tower. 390,000 square foot gain of occupied space for downtown Houston. Pretty exciting stuff, especially in times like these...
This move may reduce the chance for 5 Allen Center to proceed any time soon (because it gives them 480,000 square feet to accommodate Devon's growing needs).
Devon might want a larger solid chunk of space than 480k sqft though. Most large firms prefer that, so perhaps there COULD still be hope, ceteris paribus.

One word, one syllable: IKEA.
Good luck with those funky instructions though!

OTB's basically a cheapo knockoff of Chilis. Oddly, it's owned by the same company! *Scratches head*
