Essentially, they're ancient versions of the high-mast lighting we see everywhere on our freeways, right?
-
Looks like they rehashed a few lines from their WTC replacement proposal here, heh.

I like how it seems to flow off of the Cooley building from that angle.
For some reason, the people in the shot look photoshopped!
Edit: The building contains the following institutes and research centers.
- Cockrell Center for Advanced Therapeutics.
- Dagmar, Dow, Dunn Innovators in Translational Research.
- Jerold B. Katz Academy of Translational Research.- 1
-
Looks kinda like our own City Centre development, really.

It can even be seen from 59! Did they add a couple of floors to it, or something?
Oh, and what's that going up just to the left of it? Despite the economy, that area has a ton fo stuff going up atm.

For the heat issue, you could attach some sort of steel mesh and allow vines to grow over it.

Very James Bond super-villain.
Hence the Bond cameo in one of the renderings.

That sign's been there for eons. I remember seeing it last year when DG opened.

I'm talking about the fire that tells stories to the tribe.
Tell him to lay off the peace pipe first, memebag

I get the correlation - hookers are a lot like he said shamwow is....those things basically sell themselves!
They also readily absorb a lot of liquids, and release their load when they're wrung out.

Disclaimer: I have my own views on this subject that I shall not divulge on at this moment. No disrespect at all to people of faith, since I am one myself. Not a fundie though, so yea...

During a lecture at UH, they stated that they may have issues with financing at the moment (as usual), but they still are trying to push forward with it. Or something like that.

The problem I have with Fox News is that they are such hypocrits. They complain about bias in the media when they themselves are totally bias towards conservatives.... they complain about the "mainstream media" when they are apart of it... they complain about liberal Hollywood, liberal universites, liberal judges, the liberal Northeast... but never complain about the conservative Midwest, conservative churches, conservative [insert something boring here], etc.. When Bush was in office many on Fox News said it was unAmerican to attack our President, especially in a time of war.... now that Obama is in office that's all they do is attack our President.
Oh, and I loved after the Oscars when white supremacist Sean Hannity complained that showing 2 short clips of gay guys kissing was damaging our youth by showing too much "sex", but he had no problem with all of the straight couples kissing.

Ummm... no, they say they are fair and balanced meaning they give equal time and equal views from both the left and the right... anyone who believes that is, well, a moron.
It was a joke, mongo....sheesh
-
Fox is only "fair and balanced" because they learn far right enough to balance out everyone else combined.
To an extent, what they say is true though: "we report; you decide". You hafta look at all the sources and determine the balance itself.

LOL, we need to start a HAIF drinking game. Every time Niche says "The real world isn't like Sim City", we should all take a shot.

I noticed that it went up to $1 the other day, when did that happen? How does that compare to other large city prices?
Not the same since Lawrence Marshall went outta business.

Try looking at Crescents On The Green. Many of the patio homes there can be had for around 400k or less. There are some sections that are less than 10 yrs old, and even the older ones are pretty well maintained.
If you are concerned about the commute, I would simply avoid anything in First Colony south of Settler's Way Blvd. Everything just N of that is just what the doctor ordered.
Riverstone may be a bit of a stretch for you, but portions of it have easy access to 59 via University Blvd.
Anyway, here's a few sample listings you may want to look into:
Crescents on the Green; 4/3.5/3 around 10 yrs old, 400k, gated community, well maintained, etc:

Villages of Avalon, easy access to 59 via University Blvd. 345k:

Something slightly different: Faux brownstone in Lakepointe, close to 6, 59, the mall, etc.

If it's anything like the firm's other projects, then it should fit in well with the midtown gentrification trends, sans Perry. Oh, and the retail is a plus.

This could be counterproductive in their attempts to increase the number of "alternative energy" or hybrid vehicles, since those could be an option/loophole for those who want to escape the gasoline tax. Something just does not click here...

He didn't do that. That's the Sabine-Bagby Promenade. http://www.buffalobayou.org/sabinebagby.html
I was referring to Sesquicentennial park, actually.
-
I do like the park portion along the bayou, with those lit columns and such, so yeah...
-
Maybe it has something to do with all of those projects that went up, eh?
