    15 story tower? Far cry from the cool renderings we saw in uptown. I’m really down on the W at this location. I really hope the renderings suggest more than just a 15 story tower plopped on top of a building.

    I’m just not sure we’re going to notice a difference in street presence, connectivity and interaction. Seems to me they’re just throwing a hotel on top. This is without seeing any real renderings but I’m just not sure how they would accomplish any of the things I mentioned.

    I’m not to sure how I feel about this though. Obviously I like the idea of it being DT, but I prefer a boutique hotel on top of the tower instead. A couple reasons...I’m not sure if height will be restricted if you’re building on top of the tower? I believe I read that they can only go so high at this location. Also, I would love the W to be in its on site and fill in one of those parking lots. I’m not sure the street presence would be significant if you built on top of the tower and that would be my main concern.

    I get what you mean, it’s al about the staff. The Christians Tailgate in DT is a classic example, it’s a wonderful space but the staff is HORRIBLE

    Man I actually thought the food was good especially considering it’s a bar. I liked the fact that it was an actual sports bar. Not a lot of those in montrose.

    The waitress mentioned that they own that site as well. I wanna say she said the owner was doing some sort of wine concept maybe..? I was a few IPAs in so I don’t remember exactly.

    Were they charging for parking and if so how much..? I seen they have a machine at the entrance of the lot.

    The other half of the embassy hotel site would work as well. Although, I still have dreams of something really tall going there and blocking that waste of a building.

    Maybe it’s just me but is anyone else annoyed by thread titles with just addresses in the title? I’m sure it’s just my pet peeve, but if we have a name of the business why not just use that as the title? The heights forum is full of them and it’s hard for my little brain to keep track of what addresses match what business.

    We’re on the same page. I’m super excited to have it as well, but I’m conerned about Monday-Thursday. Also, you can literally be walking out of GRB and have no clue this thing even exist unless told about it. I hope they have great signage!!
