  1. Well it's also taken a long time because it's a project bring done by the government. Those always take a long time.

  6. Hey Mark! Welcome to HAIF. As of right now, this is the most detailed map: http://media.culturemap.com/crop/b4/5a/600x450/Houston-Dallas-bullet-train-routes-under-evaluation_123304.jpg Of course, we will later have maps with greater detail, as the project progresses.
  7. Realize that this is only office space. I'm positive that we have over 24 Million square feet currently under construction, If you include residential space as well. Edit: Just realized that we have a bunch of hotels as well. Do those count as residential?
  8. Your argument is invalid. No one can/is comparing Houston, a 200 (?) year old co coties that have been around for thousands of years. The only reason a tourist city is considered a tourist city, is because of the history there. Think about it. In San Francisco, for example, most (or should I say ALL) tourist attractions are little boys and pieces of history. Golden Gate Bridge, coot Tower, Alcatraz, etc. same with cities like Rome, Athens, and other cities that have history dating back to BC. Sure, Hoyston is not a top notch tourist destination. But wait about a decade or two, with all of the new theme parks around town being proposed, we could easily have as many tourists as say, Irkabdo does today with Walt Disney World/Universal Dtudios. Never say Never.
  9. Wow! An Interior Reflecting Pool? and did we know we were going to have GFR?
  10. That, my friend, deserves a "Keep Calm and..." from Monarch.
  11. It depends how far away you live from where you go to school/work. Stores though, are never a problem. In Houston, your always within a mile or two of a shopping center, grocery store, etc.
  12. Sounds awesome! I hope it's on the South side of the park. That part of Downtown urgently needs some nice development.
  13. The last thing we need now is surface parking. I really hope that this will get built.

  16. According to this article, over 50,000 people drive between Houston and Dallas each day and the amount of time to drive from Houston to Dallas (or vise versa) is expected to increase to 7 hours by 2035. http://transportationblog.dallasnews.com/2014/10/possible-routes-for-dallas-to-houston-high-speed-train-released.html/

  19. I have family that lives down the street from this, at 2727 Kirby, so I'll be able to get some pictures for you all as the project progresses.
