  1. This thread was at least 2 pages, but unfortunately all of my posts (updated site plans, archive links, marketing material, tenant updates, construction photos) were removed in the "accidental" deletion of my all of my content. I wasn't able to save anything from this thread. On a not surprising but sad note (depending if you liked dining here), Sing has closed last week at Lowell Street Market. All of Sing's social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) are gone. Only the website remains for now with this message announcing the closing: https://eatcravesing.com More from Community Impact: Sing, a fast-casual concept offering Singaporean cuisine, closed its Heights restaurant at 718 W. 18th St., Ste. D, on Nov. 3. The restaurant opened about a year ago, but its executive chef Cuc Lam left the operation in January. "Our journey together at SING is now at an end. Thank you for making it so much fun! We hope you enjoyed every bite, and we look forward to our next adventure together," a message posted to its website reads. https://communityimpact.com/houston/heights-river-oaks-montrose/impacts/2019/11/12/fast-casual-singaporean-concept-sing-closes-in-the-heights/

  3. Created a new thread for this building / development, that was previously discussed in the More Coming to Midtown thread. Hopefully it's easier to keep up with\updates on this project in one place instead of scrolling and searching for information in the free-for-all thread it was in before. 1500 McGowen Street in Midtown, Houston. Originally posted by crockpotandgravel, September 12, 2019 in the thread for Rich's | 2401 San Jacinto . As posted in the Montrose thread, Rich's is closing at 2401 San Jacinto. 9. 2401 Fannin has been Limelight club and Rich's club over the years. During those times, the building and the property it stands upon has been on the market ( for sale) off and on since the mid to late 2000's (maybe before that, I don't know for sure). The previous thread included an old Loopnet listing (either from 2016 or 2017) for 2401 San Jacinto included photos inside the building. I wasn't able to find on Google cache (and I didn't save it) and and couldn't find the archive link for the old listing. The only for sale listing I could find was from earlier this year, which was updated in August before the listing was removed in early October. 10. There was a thread for this property started by me in either 2016 or 2017. Since the error of a mod banning my account and deleting over five years worth of content from me, everything I contributed to this forum is gone. I was able to retrieve and save some things, but most of it is gone, including the thread for this property (sans one post made September 2019, a few weeks before all of my posts were "accidentally" deleted). I'll try to repost as much of the previous content I can remember (mostly Loopnet listings, archives and articles), but comments from other members and their photos won't be reposted. I don't want to confuse arm twisting with regulation making but the lower Westheimer traffic study wasn't something that just popped up in 2017- that the study has an attachment to CIP money is an indication that it had been in the works for a few years IMO So COH must have know about it when this developer first came to the city. I'm not sure when the COH ad hoc committee was begun to direct development of store fronts on streetside and parking in back- but it seems surely they must have overlapped. If that is so, I wonder why COH missed this opportunity-- just as I think they missed an opportunity with Paul Qui's restaurant --- doesn't anyone in COH departments speak to each other?

Originally posted by Naviguessor, June 8, 2017 in the thread for 120 Westheimer. If the COH were to make a regulation/guideline for future development, than fine. Lord knows, the city could use more development guidelines. Developers could and would follow the regulations. But, to write a regulation, after a property owner/developer has submitted a development legal proposal, is most likely illegal and certainly unfair.
  19. Originally posted September 27, 2019 in this thread before all of my content were removed from the entire forum earlier this month. Reposting this throws off the flow of the thread (i.e. out of order), still, it may be helpful for visitors to see what was previously discussed or shared before. I wasn't able to retrieve or save everything I contributed to this thread, only the last three pages ranging from 2017 to 2019. An archive link showing the last three pages (pages 7, 8, 9) before all of my contributions to this threads were deleted is coming soon. That was quick. I didn't expect Cafe Express to close this soon. You are correct about the competition from Mendocino Farms. And Eater Houston wrote about your post today: Following weeks of rumors, chef Hugo Ortega and restaurateur Tracy Vaught have officially confirmed that they’re working on a new restaurant in Uptown Park. The real-estate obsessives at HAIF were the first to notice that Ortega and Vaught had their eyes on the former Cafe Express space at 101 Uptown Park Boulevard, Suite 12. Now, a statement from Vaught confirms that they’re working on a restaurant for that location, but doesn’t provide a ton of additional detail. “Like with all our other concepts, we prefer to keep the idea close to our chests, as we like to have the ability to plan, develop and make changes at-will without being hindered by any previous announcements,” Vaught said. “So, yes, we did sign with Eden to go into Uptown Park. Our plans are still fluid and the opening is at least a year away. We have no further details at this time.” Many have speculated that Ortega and Vaught’s new restaurant will be of the fast-casual variety, which is exciting news for folks who can’t afford to enjoy the James Beard Award winning chef’s cuisine at Xochi or Hugo’s. Perhaps he’ll focus on the crispy tlayudas at Xochi, or bring the beloved ceviches from Hugo’s into a fast-casual format. Originally posted by IronTiger, June 8, 2017 in the thread for 120 Westheimer. The shopping center at the southeast corner of Westheimer and Montrose has been rumored for redevelopment for several years now. A tasteful-looking building that fits in with the scale of Montrose with streetside retail would be even better, wouldn't it?

From Houston Chronicle's real estate transactions roundup today: Jumper Maybach Fine Art will open in Uptown Park in October. The gallery is designed to provide an immersive experience with creations of contemporary artist, philanthropist and entrepreneur Ben Workman, also known as Jumper Maybach. The gallery, at 1131 Uptown Park Blvd., will offer fine art, home furnishings, apparel, accessories, gifts and other luxury items. In addition to a consistent art exhibition, the venue will offer rotating performance art and a series of events. “We are constantly seeking unique new concepts to bring to Uptown Park that introduce culture, a bit of theater and unique experiences for our guests and the Houston community,” Tom Kiler, managing director of Edens, said in an announcement. “We are thrilled to bring Jumper Maybach Fine Art Gallery to our neighborhood and to expand the options found in our re-energized and evolving district.” https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/texas-inc/article/Retail-wrap-My-Eyelab-opens-10-stores-in-Houston-14429739.php

It, also, matches the building which it shares a property line with, which steers a commonsense design. Otherwise, it'd be just a pad site or two, with an additional curb cut ...which would be worse, IMO.
