    I think the precariousness of it is going to be dependent on the angle. The angle in the second rendering is not very flattering if you're looking for something dramatic.

    Yeah sorry, was referring to residential/retail/office. My original post was completely different but I edited it in haste because I misread the post I quoted.

    Personally I think it works. Houston's downtown consists a mix of claddings anyway but it will blend in nicely with Group Place and Hines' new tower.

    Def downtown. I just want something over 700ft in Uptown to bridge the gap to Williams Tower.

    Except it's not a box... Devon has some nice features and is a perfect example on how to differentiate from a glass box. Very classy and not gaudy at all.

    His opinion would probably be shared by many world-renowned architects. It's probably even shared with many Chevron associates. Also everyone here knows we are not the decision makers but this is a forum where we voice them.

    I should clarify. I agree with this, "I'm sure they actually give shade though. The mini shade blades on these newer buildings probably give hardly any shade inside." But I disagree with what you said next.

    I like the style but the building is just eyesore for me. I want it to keep that "radiator" look but modernized.

    Underwhelming but at least it's big.

    Personally I dislike the building. I love the design but it didn't age well. I hope they keep the same geometry but modernized.
