  1. Oh please don't get me started on Mercer and Wedge international Tower! Wedge does have a nice bar on the top. That's about it!
  2. We have our own opinions. One Shell Plaza built in 1971 still dominates the skyline. No wonder they renovated the Mickey Leeland Federal Building because it was so ugly. looks nice now, but the topic is 5 Allen center that will never happened. I hope I'm wrong.
  3. BG Group Place had not tenants, now it is 96 percent leased. Five Allen center should have been built to take advantage of corporate companies wanted new office space with LEED certification. I know 609 Main has a major tenant, we will know soon. Five Allen Center and Stream/Essex International tower I think are dead. I wish they could build Five Allen center. Three Allen center looks like a Godiva box with no chocolate, it so ugly!
  4. There is a confidential off Richmond. That could be what Urbannizer is referring to. The only lot big enough is where the old Montrose clinic was. It has been vacant for years.
  5. Also the rail trains are being made in Syracuse, NY and they are behind schedule.
  6. Christof at the Houston Tomorrow meeting a few weeks ago said early December may be sooner. He said it is not METRO's fault but the contractors. On the Purple Line light bulbs on the top keep popping. Also Downtown is a mess, it's taking to long to finish it.
  7. There use to be a Little Woodrows off West Alabama next to Mission Burrito. They lost there lease and they are building Gables Upper Kirby. I live on the other side of West Alabama and they parked on all the surrounding streets. Made noise after the bars closed. Illegally parked got their cars towed. Went to the bathrooms in our yards. We were so happy they closed. Now they want build one next to million dollars homes on the other side of Upper Kirby District! What a mess, they will fight tooth and nail.
  8. Is there a height limit for the Medical Center? This building is tall on approach to Hobby.
  9. I do not think 5 gates is enough for Southwest to really make a presence. Just got back from Playa del Carmen flew out of Cancun. They built a very nice International Terminal with 26 gates terminal 3. United had the most flights then any other carrier. A flight almost every hour to Houston, also Denver, Chicago, Newark, Los Angeles, San Francisco. The CEO of Southwest said it will take them five years to make their presence know in Latin America.
  10. Went to Little Pappasitos of Richmond and Kirby and they said they lost there lease. Walked to Office Depot and Supercuts they said the whole lot will be torn down! They just have till the end of the year. Urbannizer or Subdue have you heard anything?
  11. The light rail Seattle has from SeaTac is 17 miles. Our RED line is 12.8 miles and has the second ridership after Boston. The original plan was to expand to both airports. Seattle is just 84 square miles, it could fit inside the loop. METRO cannot get the University Line built. Expanding to the airports is not even on the table. Hopefully in 20 years.
  12. Oh so true, more then a sticker shock. He has 5 more years to retire. Good idea One Park Place.
  13. Thanks, hello I thought that was the developer. Just pulled up their website never heard of them until now.
  14. A friend of mine is moving to Houston from San Francisco due to Chevron relocation. He wants a highrise downtown this would have beautiful views.
  15. I have too many favorites, but this will be one of them. Who many cranes you think they need?
  16. The drivers was rude not in the mood to answers questions. They use that huge park and ride bus very nice and comfortable. Next year the bus system will be totally different and they will have full service on weekends!
  17. Houstontomorrow.org has a speaker on the 3rd Thursday each month at Rudyards. You can go to their website to find out what the next issue and who will be and the speaker.
  18. I'm sorry if I did insult people that live in that area but the proof is there. I was so shocked how tourist get the first impression of Houston.
  19. Christof is very nice and smart he said the other rail lines should open early December. I said the Purple line looks done, but he said the light bulbs on the top keep popping. It's not METRO fault but the contractors are behind. He said it is a mess downtown. METRO is very please with ridership on The north Red line. More than they projected. Next year the bus system will be entirely different. He said give METRO feedback on the new bus system proposal.
