  1. Barneys CO-OP Houston Store.

    Houston Business Journal

    http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto.../10/story4.html

Here is a quote from the article

"The perception is that Dallas is a more cosmopolitan city and that, consequently, a move to Dallas before Houston is less risky," he says. "Once those same retailers come to Houston, they are consistently surprised at the realization of what a great, great city we have."

Yeah right!! "Dallas more cosmopolitan city" LMAO, True Dallas does get stores before we do but what's the point if they don't even last, just look at what happend to Willow Bend more than half of the stores that first open there were the first in Texas and now they're gone except for D&G. Dallas Galleria sits on a nasty part of the city. Northpark is real nice and does have stores we won't have in Houston anytime soon but the stores are soo small. I think the owners of Northpark just wanted to have a good store line up even if the stores are only big enough to sell socks and underwear. Well I know for sure Barney's CoOp is opening here on April 20 wich I will enjoy, and does eny one know when Bottega Veneta closed its Galleria store?

  2. Thank you.

For what?? Well the only reason I said I would have liked American Apparel in The Galleria or Memorial City was because atleast in a shopping mall you'll have more than one store. I'm not really familiar with where in Montrose this store will be located, is there any other stores close to there? I will admit I would have wanted for downtown to open American Apparel first.

  3. Right across the street from HP.

In front of the soon to be Macy's (soon to be defunct Foley's).

I hope they still open up in Downtown I really don't like the idea of having one in Montrose I would have like it better in The Galleria or in Memorial City. The Downtown location will be nice even better than Dallas' Mockingbird store in my opinion and the fact that the soon to be Macy's and Downtown Pavilions will be near by, just will make downtown a real shopping destination. Now I know people aren't really fans of Abercrombie & Fitch but that be sweet!! If they will open up near American Apparel.

  4. Has anyone seen the latest Paper City? One of the parties profiled was a celeb-studded event to celebrate "the launch of the first US Harrod's dept store"? Something like "26 floors underground" at the corner of Westheimer and Kirby etc etc. but of course nothing can be found doing a google search or by checking the Harrods website...

You'r take? Am I an April Fool for asking? :)

can you post it or something because that be GOOD news for me/

  5. I wonder if the location works for or against them

I don't really think there's problem with its location. I was flabbergasted when I last went there. I still remember when it first open up, its full of life, people, and stores. Pacific Sunwear, Vans, A & W, Dapy's, EB Games and Putting Edge were all there and now theyve been replaced with no-name stores that belong at Nothwest or Northline. I hate to say this but I think the Marq*E is the future Northline. Memorial City, a couple of exits away from Silber Rd. is opening a Cinemark soon. I just hate what the Marq*E has turn into I mean you just have a feeling you're gonna get mugged when you're there. LMAO

  6. dang that is alot to swallow. Not trying to throw salt on Dallas but it seems that Houston can't get anything without Dallas getting it too or even Dallas getting something better. Before we know it, Dallas WILL outdo Houston because it will have or already has: Trump Tower Dallas, Victory Park, HOB, Six Flags over Texas, Medieval Times, expanding DART trasnsportation, Galleria, and etc.

"Dallas will outdo Houston"?? I think Plano will outdo Dallas after that happends LMAO. Just because Trump is building a project in Dallas doesn't mean Dallas will outdo Houston. Trump: his casinos, show, hair, and buildings suck! His wife is HOT though LMAO so enless Trump builds the tallest building in Texas title wich Houston holds, we shouldn't worry........

  7. That's pretty annoying. I REALLY want to see more exclusives in Houston but not anywhere elsein Texas, and see Dallas with the same. I wonder if the buzz on House of Blues Houston was killed a little because of the Dallas announcement. We both have Gallerias, had Six Flags at one point in the area, have retractable roof football stadiums within the next 5 years, and have Victory/Houston Pavillions coming up. Fustration Station at it's finest.

I know exacly what you mean. Victory is no comparison to our Houston Pavilions, Victory is near opening but it sits near the highway its soo ugly there and the DART tracks make it worse. I'm not kidding when I last went to Dallas 2 months ago I had a perfect view of Victory from my room, I seriosly thought the tracks were for a regular train; no people no notting even near Victory. The streets near the W look like the path streets to hell. Dallas is soo nasty and dirty. If Paris Hilton was a city she'll be Dallas.

"We both have Galleria's" Our Galleria would blow any mall in Dallas out of competition. Yes Northpark will have some nice stores but the mall is soo boring (its like Dr. Suess worst nightmare) and the way they place they're stores is stupid. They're Galleria sits in "Da Ghetto" you just get a felling you're going to get mugged. Sorry Dallas "I" don't give you credit for Highland Park Village, Willow Bend and Stonebriar because they aren't consider Dallas but Highland Park and Plano malls. "Yo Dallas talk to me when yo burbs stop taiking yo exclusives"

Six Flags yes Dallas had the better one and will always have it. Ours truely sucked, it was dirty and in a way I didn't care when it closed. Wait isn't Six Flags in Arlington? LMAO

Reliant Stadium is one of the best stadiums in America. enough said....

I wrote this because its true people do really want to shape Dallas up like Houston, you'll never see people trying to convert Houston into Dallas......

  8. All the above malls are all under the same property management team. Banking 214, you might ought to go by the new Memorial City Mall one day when in Houston again. Its been remodeled and updated. Its not the same mall you went to in high school anymore.

Yeah, Memorial City is a lot different the only stores dat piss the whole mall up are Target and JCPenny, maybe even Sears. I think a Nordstrom would have been a lot better than JCPenny. Apple and a new Cinema are opening there that should sort of let you know the direction the mall is headed. I heard Roger Clements is opening a sports themed bar/restaurant. Does enyone know what's taking Mervyn's place?

  9. Well, we can barely support the malls we have.

    Have you ever herd of:

    Memorial City

    The Woodlands

    First Colony

    Baybrook

    Willowbrook

    Deerbrook

In my opinion those malls have done VERY good. Notice that the last 3 end in "brook", is they're a reason for that?

Northpark has very nice stores but the way they're spread out makes no kind of sense to me. Its sort of like mixing Galleria I with Northwest but maybe theyl fix that with the expansion that's going on. The mall its self is like Dr.Suess worst nightmare LMAO.

  10. I was surprised to see some $145.00 jeans at the Armani Exchange... I guess there was a sale or something??

Maybe, but that's what a nice pair of A/X jeans will cost you enless you're at they're outlet store in San Marcos. The cheapest pair of jeans I have ever bought at they're Houston store was $98.00.

  11. I can't wait for Houston to meet everyone's upscale shopping needs, god know's we need em ;) I'm so tired of $30.00 jeans and $25.00 shirts. I'm ready for overpriced goods and I'm ready for them now!

Same here bro. Im soo tired of buying from Neiman's they're soo rude there I hope Diesel and Facconable would open here, now they have nice jeans and shirts that way you won't have to spend your hard own money buying $30.00 jeans and $25.00 shirts LMAO

  12. NorthPark debuts new wing

"NorthPark Center opened its new wing, which includes the opening of the flagship Nordstrom store and 220 other new stores, Friday."

"The Dallas luxury mall has been undergoing a $200 million expansion project that will more than double the mall's dining and retail space."

"Stores to open in the first phase include Charles David, Juicy Couture, Custo Barcelona and Vilebrequin. For 14 of the stores, NorthPark is their only Dallas County location."

"The NorthPark location is the seventh Texas store for Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. (NYSE: JWN). The company has another store just minutes away at the Dallas Galleria."

"......The second phase of NorthPark's expansion, opening in April, involves a three-level expansion, including more than 90 retailers, such as H Hilfiger, Occhiali Da Sole, David Yurman and others, as well, as a new AMC theater...."

"....The expansion is expected to create 2,500 to 4,000 new jobs, said Christine C. Szalay, director of marketing and tourism for NorthPark.....The mall does about $600 million a year in sales, and with the expansion is expected to become the fifth billion-dollar center in the United States within five years, she said..."

"...The mall boasts about 22 million shoppers a year."

    Web site: www.northparkcenter.com

Northpark has a nice new store mix, but I don't think It'll last just look at what happend to Willow Bend. The mall its self is cold and boring and those statues and paintings make it worse its like a museum LOL While Dallas gets more upscale shops Houston shouldn't worry its not far behind, just like Herrera, Salvatore, and Yurman stop being our exclusives I'm sure at least some of those will come down here soon. BOSS & Juicy Couture have stores everywhere, Custo Barcelona will open this year here so I'm not worried I'm happy with our soon to open CoOp and exited to see what will happen to the Macy's spot (I always wonderd "what if Saks moved there, and Saks made into stores so finally getting to G3 won't be APITA") I read somewhere today that Austin is opening something that starts with a D??? That will include a Neiman's and a William Sonoma, it said it will open next year and that they were trying to get Vuitton, CoOp, Tiffany, BOSS, among others to sign leases there Does anyone know about this project?

  13. For all of you not familiar with the show, The Amazing Race is a CBS reality show where 11 teams of 2 related people race around the world for a chance to win 1 million dollars. I was surprised that I never saw this show being mention in this forum especialy last year when the winners where from Houston Uchenna & Joyce.

Well this show is on its 8th season and I really liked the previos 7 but this season is a "Family Edition" wich in my opinion SUX I saw the 1st 2 episodes didn't like it at all. Do any of you fell the same way?

  14. I guess Dallas is getting a Highrise Residential Tower at there Galleria before our Galleria even begins to draw blue prints if any.....

I'm not sure where I read it but YUP Dallas Galleria is gettin Residences enless I miss read the article and it was our Galleria or miss read it and Galleria Dallas AREA is getting the highrise residences

Can someone give me the info on this confusing dilema

  15. I'd say it's excellent news, but I will withhold judgement until we see the business hours. So many 'bucks are only open 8-4 Monday through Saturday it's rediculous. What's the point of putting it in a neighborhood if the people who live there can't patronize your business?

Most of the Starbucks I've been to are open from 5 AM to like 10 or 9 PM.

Most of my family lives in The Heights and every time I visit them I've NEVER seen a Starbucks, I'm kinda surprised I bet Starbucks would make a lot of money if they would open somewhere near Heights Blv. Insted of that CVS they should have built a Starbucks, or in 19th street where Harold's and the antique shops are located. There's also a lot of vacant spots in "Uptown Heights" (on 19th st. infront of the Chase Bank) where Curves and UPS Store are located. There's also vacant spots on Heights Blv. and Katy Fwy where Subway is at. Well incase yall know of a Starbucks near the Heights that I don't know of Tell me because I LOVE there Mocha Flappuchino with Wipcreme

  16. I think this is all part of the "puppy" factor...i.e., America has become a bunch of puppies. There were evacuees that were worried about being uncomfortable if the power went out, as MidtownCoog said, so they clogged up the freeway for real evacuees. They are probably the biggest whiners about the evacuation, too. Their SUVs probably get shitty gas mileage while sitting in traffic with max ac on.

Unfortunately, I doubt any amount of "education" will convince these selfish bastards to stay put. Maybe if we make gensets the new "it" item to have in Houston, they'll stick around and show them off. <_<

The only reason I went to Dallas, wasn't because of me or my girlfriend it was because of our kid he's 7 months old and I wasn't gonna risk stayin here I live in SW Houston and I know it wasn't mandatory to leave but when you go to a store and see that there running low on basic nescesities water, food and gas, BS MAN I'm gone even though notting bad happen where I live I still don't regret leavin yeah it took 14 hours but hey atleast we were safe so if that's what you call being "puppy" I guess we should not care about our families safety?........

  17. As I type my Girlfriend is driving I'm in The Woodlands its taiknen 5 and 1/2 hours just to get from South West Houston to here. If yall havent evacuated trough 45 towards Dallas its caos nothing is moving people are out of gas and people stop in the middle of the road to eat streach and just not do nothing....

I think they should have opened up the other lanes to just make the freways a one way, I still haven't reach Conroe so I don't know how "fast" its moving hopefully this won't be somenthing we have to look back at and tell ourselves "we could have done this or that" I'm pissed because as I drive people with children are outside because thres nothing you can do but wait and hope u don't run out of gas .....

Nice people are giving out water, HOT DOGS, and I anything they can give away

C'onm 5 million people trying to get out ONE CAN ONLY WAIT...........

  18. The Shops at La Cantera anyone know anything about this projet?  San Antonios new upscale Shopping center quite impressive Neiman Marcus,Nordstrom,Burberry thats all I could find on the mall lineup found out about the mall through the Burberry new store openings page.

    Any Pics or info?

I hope The Shops at La Cantera will last, don't they have Premium Outlets like 30 min in San Marcos wich has a lot of nice stores I went there like in mid May they have better stores than La Cantera and everythings cheap on a down side it wa soo friken HOT and to walk from store to store was a pain in the azz.

I'm soo jelous they have a Hugo Boss Outlet and a Hugo Boss Boutique........

  19. :( Dominion Post Oak has been open 4 months and is now full. Was at about 40% about twoo weeks ago. Up until that time resident quality and service good. Now it is truly a residence that will trash(crash) soon! The new residents from La. are trashing the place. Stinky dogs as big as small ponies...poop in the elevator...urine in the elevators. Club room now nursery and playroom. Find new residents rude...pool area always a mess. The poor staff especially maintenance(too few) are working themselves to a frazzle! I am from South America and I have never seen such rudeness and lack of consideration for others. Looking for a new residence already!!!!

Isn't Dominion on Post Oak luxury Apts.? Why would they let people like that in there (free of rent?)???????????
