There is a galleria 5? Anyways, most of the stores that opened up in Galleria IV, are the ones not unique to the Galleria alone.
May I suggest something? eluxury.com If your looking for something in a specific brand, then I suggest the link above.
the old Lord & Taylor expansion is nicknamed Galleria V by some I'm not sure if its offical though.
And yes as Galleria IV was a mixture of new exclusive stores to Houston and old stores simply relocating , as stores relocated or closed they left room for the real exclusives to open in Galleria I & II.

Meaning, It doesn't kill me that D&G (or Dolce & Gabbana) isn't opening up a store in the galleria.
well it kills me , hahaha I wouldn't be surprise if they open up again in The Galleria. Galleria V really let me down I was expecting better stores . give us men a place to shop too .

We are Getting Energie And Miss Sixty In Houston i know the one in Dallas is opening soon where are they in the Galleria? Is the sign up yet?
I want Sisley,D&G,Cavalli to open in the Galleria
It was rumored H&M were coming here I dont know if that is true
Missy Sixty / Energie have been open in Northpark (Dallas) for quite a while, its a nice store. I love ENERGIE Jeans!,
I haven't seen a storefront sign yet, but I think they're opening near Puma. on the second floor of The Galleria I.
I know I want a D&G store tooo!! Plano TX doesn't need it !! we do !, well here's a list of stores I would like to see open
Porsche Design
Vans
Ermenegildo Zegna
Diesel
Juicy Couture
Boss Hugo Boss
Paul Frank
Original Penguin
Bloomingdale's
I herd these stores are planning to open
H&M
Michael Kors
Custo Barcelona
Valentino
Ruehl No. 925
Dolce & Gabbana
Escada
PRADA!!!!! - Yes PRADA I read it a while back in Papercity , wich also included Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, and Escada.
-
Miss Sixty and Energie are opening , soo happy to know this because I like Energie jeans. I'm still waitting on a Diesel and Original Penguin store !! if I were in charge I would get rid of most tendants in Galleria III and open worth shopping at stores . A Macys has to go its pointless having two, we need Bloomingdale's or a full Barney's.
-
So yeah BCBG Max Azria is openining a second store in Houston at The Woodlands Mall, I don't know how well it will do with JC Penny and Sears in the same mall LMAO. Well BCBG has only one store in The Galleria and its known for quite a while that they will open a store in the Houston Pavillions. Sony Style opended there too, Kudos to The Woodlands they're finally getting a descent place to shop, a Nordstrom wouldn't hurt either .....

Apparently, they are going to operate duplicate stores, each having mens, womens, etc etc. I understand that only the current Foley's building will have furniture, other than that pretty much duplicate stores.
It seems a little odd. Having duplicate stores doesn't seem like it would make sense for the long term. Here's my guess/hope of what's going on: Perhaps they are still considering bringing a Bloomingdale's into the current Macy's building; therefore they don't want to give up the building and so they'll just operate it as a Macy's for a while...
That's what I was thinking exacly, two Macy's in one mall doesn't make sense, I think May Co. will surprise us all soon if they endup opening a Bloomingdale's in the Galleria, after all they are going to get rid of Houston based Foleys
-
Micheal Kors will be coming to the Galleria in 2007 its in the latest Texas Monthly issue.
SWEET! can you post that article? RUEHL No. 925 has alredy assigned a store number for a Houston The Galleria location, Custo Barcelona is supposed to open in The Galleria by 2007 but I don't know where I was thinking in the new Lord & Taylor expansion. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Ermenegildo Zegna, Porsche Design, Hugo Boss, or Diesel.

when the waterway is completed, it will be the "main street" of town center. market street is a shopping destination in town center, it is not "the" main street. btw, foley's will be macy's any day now. the foley's signs are currently banners covering what i believe will be the new macy's signs.
please Macy's is notting to brag about now that it will be located in every mall average and ghetto in Houston and Texas.
I like the stores in Market Street but hate the architecture it looks cheap and I belive with a little more money and creativity they could have done a better job
-
6th st. is not that great I hate the fact that almost everynight you will most likely see a fight, those kids are still with that High School drama, it gets anoying after a while. The girls are always enjoyable though ...
as for the homeless people in The Pavillions I don't think there be a problem I think they nolonger hang out in downtown, they've move more towards midtown. but if there were to start hanging out near The Pavillions, I wouldn't mind having my taxes raised for the city to ship them to The Woodlands or some other place LMAO
-
..... As it stands now, Market Street has basically the same stores you could find in the Galleria or in the Rice Village.
I've been to The Woodlands Mall & Market Street several times and I've never seen a Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue or for that matter a Macy's so no I wouldn't say you'll find the same stores. I disslike cookie cutter looking buildings, in my opinion it makes its self look cheap. its ok for a theme park but not for a real main street.
-
maybe The Woodlands should stop building those ugly cookie cutter houses and developments and start to realize that no matter how much the people that live there hate it, the fact of the matter is that they are part of AMERICA, TEXAS, AND HOUSTON and like in any country, any state, and any city theres CRIME. its not the box full of puppies they whant to make it seem
-
am all for it I love skating and no The Woodlands shouldn't get one like it because skating is an urban sport not a cookie cutter sport LMAO but by the time it gets build (if it does) ill be 100 years old LMAO

Memorial City Mall dropped the Foleys name and up went Macys yesterday

Speaking of nice malls, I hear that Northpark, in Dallas, is nice. I think they have art there, or something, and Houstonians are too stupid to understand why.
I've been there and yes I like the new part of the mall.
-
I really liked what Galleria IV did to the entire mall as new stores re located or closed new stores opened in those vacant spots. I always HATED the old store fronts especially those in Galleria I the all black with the stores name in white letters, do yall know what I'm talking about? was that a mall policy that the stores had to follow??

David, I may seem pessimistic about the FCM debate, but I have some intriguing insight to capitalize on:
The old A&F will go one of three ways: 1. out of FCM totally, 2. relocated to another part of FCM, or 3. a renovation (if this is the case, it needed one anyway if you look at all the newer A&Fs, and I remember the Woodlands A&F (according to post) was closed during the same time period the Woodlands Mall (owned by General Growth just like FCM) was being renovated and expanded (with new Barnes & Noble to boot). But still, we all don't know what's going on with A&F (and the fact that Gucci execs are at A&F now has absolutely nothing to do with it).
The Hello Kitty store that closed is called Sanrio...it will become either Trade Secret or somethin' else. There are two Trade Secrets on the lease plan, which not only shows the old Sanrio becoming a TRADE SECRET, but it also shows the old Bailey Banks & Biddle as VACANT, and FAMOUS WOK being located in the food court, yet it surprisingly still had EXPRESS (and STRUCTURE as well) and ABERCROMBIE & FITCH listed...Of course, EXPRESS is going to be outdoors with B&N, Coldwater Creek and all the other new offerings.
Mervyn's will NOT be a Nordstrom unless they add some more space (a Nordstrom is practically two Mervyn's in one sizewise; they take up about the same size as Dillard's)
Lacoste at FCM? Sounds like a bold move to challenge the Galleria, but it is a rumor...and I don't really think the time has come yet for Lacoste to have an FCM store.
Urban Outfitters at FCM? Either in old A&F or in the expansion.
That's all for now, folks. Write back ASAP if you have any questions or concerns.
- KYLE S.
I'm with you Kyle S., Nordstrom, Lacoste, and Urban Outfitters in my opinion won't be located in First Colony any time soon. This is how I see it, when exclusive stores open in Houston, in most cases they first open in The Galleria, then if a second location is to open, Memorial City or The Woodlands Mall will get it. First Colony Mall is at the same level as Baybrook Mall just like Willowbrook is with Deerbrook Mall. Don't belive me? Well Apple is opening its third Houston location in Memorial City Mall (The Galleria/The Woodlands). Lascoste for example has 4 stores in Texas (Houston,Dallas,San Antonio,Plano). I though you people hated Abercrombie & Fitch ? I personally love it

Just curious, but why are you opposed to apartments or a cinema?
theres plenty of highrise apt. around The Galleria. Bloomingdale's should take Macy's space not some tacky apt. building either that or more stores I'd kill for an Ermenegildo Zegna, Hugo Boss, Porsche Design, and a Diesel store too. as for a cinema I dont think its right for an upscale mall like The Galleria it will just attract mall rats

How do they get everyone of those trees to grow exactly the same? Cloning?
You can't clone a tree!? Don't you need blood or cells to do that right??

Here are some renderings of the development:
Condos
Retail & Medical office
Is it me, or is Houston flooded with seafood Restaurants?
Are those buildings going to be built around the mall or are they going to be attach to the mall? They're too cookie cutter if you ask me

Houston has been a heated discussion and titles in several topics at SSC. But the majority of people there are just -serious- idiots. They lack alot of common sence, and SSC is just a cess pool for them.
Hey!! I'm in SSC and I defend Houston when ever something like this comes around including this SSC disscussion wich by the way is already been locked.

I gave the woman a chance.
She still scares me.
Do we really want this woman representing Houston?
I do just look at her she's HOT, the show isn't that bad just give it a chance and leave the poor woman alone, what does she have to do to win your respect give out cars like Ophra? LMAO The show is ok hey its better than notting or The View for that matter LMAO
-
Well that is probably going to kill B. Dalton's (I think that is the name). Better location, and probably a larger store.
Yes a much larger store. From what I heard is a two story 22,000-24,000 sq.ft store.
Speaking of apartments, is that still part of future Galleria plans?I hope not they should built more stores and restaurants that will somehow connect to Galleria II either that or a Bloomingdale's.

Any new updates on the changes in the Galleria? (former Lord & Taylor / Macy's)
Former Lord & Taylor space currently remodeling to include Kona Grill, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, Border's Books, and a new J.Crew store, among more new stores. The expansion said to open before the 2006 Holidays. Since the expansion is going right in Galleria II in the "luxury corridor" I will imagen new upscale stores opening there. As for the Macy's space I have no clue, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Bloomingdale's or more stores anything but a cinema or highrise apartments.

By the food court, where that carousel is.
Actually isn't the new Cinemark going to be by Sears??

who wants to shop in a lame disneyland like place now in days ? , I avoid driving that far up north but when ever I'm in the area I always stop at the mall , and yes its true most people who shop there are from the city, or people who are "zoned" to other malls hahaha, I hate seeing this It gets anoying watching kids walking areound the mall with one Foot Locker bag and snapping pictures like they're in Rodeo Dr. hahaha, and yes people that I know that unfortunately live in Spring/The Woodlands do drive down to shop at The Galleria, its sad in away. The Galleria does get crowded but its just a lot different
